I think anxiety in general is a problem for us all to one degree or another. Mine is financial anxeity, i worry abou tmoney so much and work so hard to try and earn enough to relieve the anxiety.  Every once in a  while (like once a month) i have to take a xanex off my wife to get thru a particularly hard patch.

But i believe i have heard others here complain about the driving anxiety issue also.

   Hope this helps you.

I usually post on the Crohn's side as I have Crohn's disease, but I also have been diagnosed Bipolar I. I, too, have a horrid time driving. I am a very aggressive driver. I will go around a car in front of me just so I don't have to wait at the next red light. Dangerous, dangerous driving behavior. When my wife drives, I am so anxious that I cannot look when she is hitting the brakes. For me, the aggressive driving is the worst because I absolutely abhor crazy drivers tongue

I guess 10 years of not being treated will exacerbate any situation.

But yeah, I know the feelings in relation to driving.

I used to get panic attacks everytime I drove. Treatment definitely helped though.

Hi I get anxity if it is on the freeway. I keep telling myself just a couple more exits and you will not have to worry. By the time I do exit I am drenched in sweat and I am shaking uncontrolably. I have also had my right foot shake violenly before I get on and during my driving or thinking about the freeway. Other driving is ok unless something scares me and then I start the anxity all over again. I have gotten better I play relaxing music and give myself a pep talk. When I start to feel tense I tell myself to relax. This usualy works. I am also Bipolar and my pdr said that it has nothing to do with that. I do not belive it! If it is not that then why am I on anti anxity meds? Hang in there it can get better I know.
