Nortriptyline is the anti-depressant that supposedly doesn't cause constipation or diarrhea. Recommended for folks with IBS. I have Ulcerative Colitis. Wellbutrin and all the rest constipated me which sucks.

Just a tip. Not taking Nortriptyline because just tired of side effects

diagnosed pancolitis mild to mod Sept. 2009
after pred, IN REMISSION since Jan 15, 2010 :-)
6 400 mg. Asacol daily, 1000 mg. Canasa - two out of three nights, 1 tbs psyllium husk powder VSL-#3 -- one packet daily, multi-vitamin; 1200 mg calcium plus D, 1000 mg fish oil.Biotin 5,000 (hair loss)
Eliminated dairy, red meat,alcohol caffeine, spicy, fried, greasy, vinegar and citrus.
Bipolar - Lamictal 200 mg, trileptal (900 mg) trazadone 540 mg.
