Does anyone find that taking vitamins daily help depression, if so please tell me what you are taking and the dose.

St John's wort worked for about a month for me, until my body built up a tolerance. 3 pills at 300 mg a day.

I had planned to look for something else in the near future

Genetic, have you taken melatonin before? I take that now, but only because it's better than nothing in trying to help me to sleep.

Is the 5htp avail OTC?

Yup - you can get 5HTP at WalMart, Walgreens, etc.
 
SAMe is supposed to be helpful too.  Anyone try that?

   I take a centrum multi vitiam twice a day, and an additional 500mg??? of maginisum twice a day also. ALso some ostio-bio-flex for the old joints. LOL LOL LOL The maginisum i had read about helping out with depression. I do feel better, so maybe it does work.

Fish oil is supposed to be great for depression.

   Darn it i forgot that i was taking fish oil to, just ran out. Supposed to be great for memory, how well do you think its working?????tongue smilewinkgrin turn

Be careful with St. John's Wort -- I know sometimes it interacts with bipolar meds.
