I'm on Prozac 40 mg (I think) and Lamictal 300 mg.

I'm curious about those of you who increase or decrease your dosage as you feel necessary, or when you feel extra stressed or depressed or whatever.  It's my understanding that you're supposed to take the same dose regularly in order to keep a consistent amount of the drug in your system.  Do a lot of people do that?

25 mg Lamictal in the morning
.2 mg clonidine at night for sleep

Clonidine is helping a little, I actually sleep about four or five hours strait now, but I think I'm going to try something else. I tried Trazadone first and that didn't work, but I gather my doc is starting with medicines that are pretty mild as far as sedation goes. Any suggestions?

Some medications, like Klonopin or Ativan, (benzodiazepines) allow you to take them when you need it. But most AD's and mood-stabilizers need to be in your system consistently.

I take 200 Lamictal, 200 Luvox, 5 Abilify, Ativan as needed, plus Levoxyl and Cytomel for hypothyroid.

Yeah, I understand the PRN meds.  I take xanax for insomnia.  I guess I'm just confused (or more accurately CONCERNED) about the 'main cocktail'.  Like you said, Bohemian, I would think that taking a little extra every once in a while wouldn't really have an effect.  It takes weeks for it to adjust in your system anyway - it just seems like adding a teaspoon of water to a swimming pool :)

So I just saw my doc about the ractions I'm having and now my drugs are changing a bit. She said I am likely experiencing a mild allergic reaction to the lamictal that should fade. As far as hyperactivity it is likely the stim effect of the lamictal, mixxed with an already manic mood and an increased awareness of my ADHD. Since I'm still having trouble sleeping, we are lowering and slowing increase of dosage of Lamictal, trying a sample pack of seroquel xr, increasing clonidine and alternating as I wish with Clonazepam for sleep. I know this doesn't seem like much to most of you, but it's starting to get confusing for me!

12.5 mg lamictal daily to see if side effects improve
50 mg seroquell XR four hours before bed
.3mg clonidine as needed for sleep
.5 Kolonopin as needed for sleep

I mentioned my daytime anxiety when I asked her about kolonopin and that I have been having some daytime freakouts that I thought anxiety medication would help with, and she still said to only take the kolonopin at night for sleep. Does this make sense to you guys? I think she must just be worried about abuse potential.

Anyways, sorry to always be so long winded, I can't help it ;)
