I see tons of posts about weight gain, but has anyone experienced significant weight loss(outside of being in a depressed state).
I gained about 8lbs in 3 weeks on some med, but now I have lost 7 in 2 weeks. Anybody have any ideas?

I know add meds like ritalin and adderal promote weight loss. Not sure about bipolar meds. My appetite has been fluctuating a lot on Lamictal. I used to have a very poor appetite, or at least I couldn't eat very much at one time. Now I seem to go a day without realizing that I haven't eaten, then a day where I can't get enough of this glorious thing called food!

I never really weighed myself much before, but I've started to keep track of it. So far no change.

Hi Kevin,
I lose a lot of weight when I am manic.  I lose 1 to 1.5 pounds per day that I am manic.  I've lost 40 lb that way!  shocked   nono

Besides having bp I have an eating disorder.  I am manic right now and am losing wt without perging.  But as soon as I come down I eat a lot.  MY Geodon and Prozac seem to help a little.  There are a lot of meds like depakote that make you gain wt.   Let your doctor know if it gets out of hand and maybe he may change your med for you.  Hope that helps.
