I know I probably shouldn't be posting here but my bipolar is fighting me so hard on this.
i've been           for days. my boyfriend and i broke up on wedneday morning and he had to come over wednesday night because . this feeling hasn't gone away at all. i haven't been to class since tuesday and i haven't been to work either. i'm just sitting in my room crying all day and all night. i haven't slept at all.
i really think i need medication. i have no access to a psychiatrist and i probably can't get an appointment as it's now friday evening and i probably wouldn't get an appointment until 3 weeks from now.
i'm really desperate. i'm really really freaking out. i feel like i've fallen into a deep empty well and i'm sitting at the bottom calling for help and nobody hears me and i'm going to starve to death down here.

i'm just so scared to go back to the hospital. i've gone twice before when i was younger. i'm scared my boss won't want to put me back to work or even worse fire me and my parents don't even know what's going on right now so they will just be angry when they hear i'm at the hospital. i don't even know if my tricare health insurance will cover a night in the hospital and i don't know if they will make me stay now that i'm 18, can i leave at any time? :(

Hi Voix,

If you admit yourself into the hospital, you can leave when you would like. But if you are admitted by the hospital or somebody else, you can't.

I suggest that you get some help asap. Call 911 or an emergency hotline with your mental health provider. I will post some sites that might also help you.

National Suicide Hotline
1-800-SUICIDE (1-800-784-2433)
This is a combined network of the Amerian Association of Suicidology, the National Hopeline Network, CONTACT USA, and many other organizations. Call are automatically routed to the nearest crisis center to the phone from which the call for help is placed.

Helpful Web Sites:
Suicide Hotlines (listed by state)
Suicidal.com (includes Suicide Crisis Center and Depression and Suicide)

Please contact somebody who can help you.  You should talk to your parents because this is very important.

I can't admit myself, I don't drive, I have no way to get to the hospital. I don't know what my options are at all. I don't want to call my parents. they don't think i even have a problem.

Your parents should know, they care about you. This is urgent, you really should make a call for help. Try the suicide hotline and talk to somebody. Take a cab if you have to or call 911.

Call 911. My son is a paramedic and he takes a lot of depressed people to the hospital after they call 911. There is NO shame in being depressed. Let your parents know or after you get to the hospital have someone else call them. Right now you have to make yourself safe. The hospital will figure out your tricare benefits. I have tricare and it is covered, but let the hospital find out for sure. When you fall into a deep hole like that, you need someone reaching down the well to help pull you out. Keep us posted

Voix,

Without going to the hospital, or a mental health facility, I guess we are what you have left. Feel free to explore and post about your feelings. We just can't talk about suicide or self harm, but I am sure that there are other thins we can talk about. I hope that you feel better soon.

I really think you should see a doctor and get on some medication that would help you to feel better. And I think that you really need counseling bad. These are the steps that we take to wellness.

Look for some books on depression online that could help you. There is one called "the new mood therapy" by Dr. Burns. It is a very good book. Maybe you could order it. It is so important right now that you do something to help yourself. And know that we are all behind you here to support you.

Hugs, Karen

Voix,

I work in a hospital in mental health. Please if you feel you need that help, call an ambulance and let them take care of you. That is what they are there for. I had to do that several times myself (call 911 and be taken that way). It's okay, paramedics, and hospital staff are there to help you. Look at it as a stepping stone to just get you the support you need for right now, to get you through, to get you feeling more settled until you can get some kind of appointment. If you are feeling you need some meds, you can talk to them there at the hospital about it.

As far as your job goes, people get sick and have to go to the hospital all the time. You don't have to provide details.

Please let  us know how you are doing.  ((hugs))

Hi Voix,

I am glad that you are going to see a psychiatrist on Friday. Write a list of all the things that you want to discuss and carry it with you. Go over everything on that list. That way you wont forget to tell him everything that is going on.

Hopefully he will prescribe you with something that will help you. I have a really good psychaitrist. I see him every three months for meds. I see his nurse for counseling. And guess what, massage is a part of her therapy. Cool...

Take care my friend.

Hugs, Karen
