Hi everyone - at the risk of sharing too much personal information...  my SO and I have briefly talked about a baby in the future.  No intentions at this point.  But I know from a meds/managing BP POV, there is a lot for me to think about / do before it is even a possibility.

I'm on Lamictal and it is a miracle drug for me.  Controls BP without side effects.  But not exactly safe for breastfeeding.

Rispiridone is well studied to be safe for breastfeeding, so I'm thinking it would be a good idea to see if it works for me?

1) Has anyone tried both meds and could compare how they worked?
2) If I try one med and it doesn't work, when I go back to lamictal, will lamictal work the same?

I will ask my Dr.  Just in betwee Dr's right now.

Hey tortise, respirdal has been awonder drug for me. But there has been some weight gain and hair loss. Aside from that i have to say that this drug saved my marriage and my life. I cant tell you about lamicil, just wanted to tell you that respordal has been a life saver for me.
And im glad to hear you are thinking about having a baby, he/she will be very lucky to have a mom as good as you.

I am on zoloft and risperidal. Love them both.

I took risperdol, but due to weight gain switched to abilify. I am not sure if that is safe when deciding to have a baby though. By the way, I am very happy for your decision.
