I'm a very new member of HealingWell.com and the Bipolar Forum, and I wanted to introduce myself.
Some years ago, I was diagnosed as Bipolar II, mainly, as my psychiatrist says, because no antidepressant has yet been found that works for me. (I'd been on Effexor for years and years, and it did wonders for me, but it eventually faltered and then ceased working altogether. I had to go off it little by little and thus experienced the joys (?) of drug withdrawal in November 2009, December 2009, and a bit of January 2010.) Mostly, I cycle between "normal," whatever that may be ;-) , and depressed. I'm currently in a very bad and long-lasting depressive cycle. UGH. My psychiatrist has just started me on Invega. I'm on four other meds (mood stabilizers, a small amount of an antidepressant, an antianxiety drug), in addition to Invega. Also UGH. But I do like my psychiatrist a lot and have a lot of trust in him.
In August, I'll be going back to school (graduate school) for the first time since 1984. I'm both excited and absolutely terrified.
I'm eager to get to know all of you and to learn from you all.
All best wishes and thanks for being there,
