Tomorrow (Saturday), a friend has invited me over to watch the parade her neighborhood association is putting on. It should be cute. Then the association is putting on a potluck, so we'll go to that. We'll also get together with her elderly father, who, at 92, is very spry and sprightly. Sunday I may visit a friend who's in a rehabilitation facility. And Monday I may drive down to the coast (I live near the Gulf of Mexico, but a part that hasn't been battered by the oil slick--at least not yet!) with a friend to walk on the beach.
Last year, I spent the 4th with a guy I was dating. We went to a 4th of July celebration in a small town, and it was a lot of fun. I like small-town festivals. Haven't been dating the guy since October. We didn't have enough in common to sustain a relationship.
Hope all of you who celebrate it have a good 4th of July. I'm sure people will be here to listen and to care, which is very comforting.
