How is everyone doing?

My boyfriend and I went to an auction this morning and I did not have an anxiety attack!  It was fun.  :)  Went to a family function that wasn't as bad as it could have been.  Got home in time for tornado warning and all the severe weather went south of us.

A tense, stressed day for other reasons, but it was OK.

hey tortoise.

had a good-bad day. saw a friend for breakfast, walked, shopped, hung out on the computer...
then friends called to get dinner!! so that was great.

bad part was the anxiety and the paranoia and feeling like great here are people who can be happy why can't I?

I am a new member and I didn't see a thread for newbies so I thought I would post in here.
I'm still trying to find my way around, I am curious to know how many members you have on your
messageboard. I am really looking for a somewhat small group of people to talk with, anything too big
may overwhelm me and I'd feel lost and I feel like that enough already.

Anyway I just thought I'd say hi and I hope to talk with some of you soon.
I've been dealing with bipolar disorder for over 20 years and I have many things to share.

Welcome lady!  I couldn't honestly say how big we are because most people read and aren't active in conversations.  I think there are between 20 and 30 people that I recognize and about a dozen that are very active.

If the public forum is too much for you, join us on chat days.  Usually there are just 2 or 3 people in the chat room at a time and you can use the private feature so that only one person sees what you write.  It helps on those days that are overwhelming!

I hope to see you around.  Feel free to start a new topic and introduce yourself, if you like.  It's not required, but we like to know who is reading!  We like to meet new people and see how we can all support each other!

I had a good day. I went to a 12 step meeting because I used to binge on alcohol.
I'm sober 19 months but I have had cravings last couple of days for cold beer and it's been really hard
not to pick up that drink, but I didn't...sweet!

I cleaned part of the house...not everything I wanted to do but enough to make me feel like I accomplished
something. After it was clean I lit a candle and meditated and channelled with tarot cards.

I wrote 2 poems today and read for awhile.

I ate too much chocolate today and didn't exercise but that's o.k....all and all it was a good day.

You all sound like you're coping well; good for you guys!

Welcome to lady! Tortoise is right, this group is relatively small for the regulars, so I think you would find that safe. The chat rooms are great too but even if you just want to read posts and post yourself, that is a huge comfort all by itself.

Hi tortoise!
Thanks for the welcome :-)

Your board sound just right for me. I have belonged to a messageboard for over 5 years
it's small but very active. We talk about a varity of things but I tend to complain and
talk about my personal problems too much. I felt I needed to find a place where people
shared my disorder and could understand how I struggle with my daily life.

When I have more time I will post more about myself. I am actually going out with a friend today, something I rarely do and it always helps me to get out.

I'm a very active poster at my other board so I'm looking forward to talking with your posters and sharing our lives dealing with bipolar disorder.

BTW, I love chatrooms but I have yet figured out how to get into this one, I'll play around with it later.
Bye

First  a big welcome to lady.  Nice to meet you and hope you find some help here, this is a very nice group of decetated people  who really take the time to listen and rspond. Plus we know where you are cause chances are we have all been there ourselves and have found the way home.

Ok, lets see. Sat i helped my wife have her first belly dance class. ALl in all it went great and it looks like we are just out 40-80 dollars. So that is close to break even for us. Then i helped get everything cleaned up, went and worked the night shift at the firehouse. GOt off at 7 and went for a 2 hour bike ride thru the hills, in the heat at 9. Felt great and really enjoyed myself.

Now i am running to the store real quick. Just having a nice "down" day which i dont get often.

Ill check in later on the chat.

So cool that your wife teaches bellydance! I learned how when I was a kid, but forgot most of it, so I am starting a class in 2 weeks. :)

I am thinking about entering Chalkfest (www.chalkfest.org) this year, so I grabbed a box of my son's crayola sidewalk chalk and played outside for about an hour and a half.  It is 8 feet by 6 feet - the biggest thing I have ever attempted.  I didn't have brown or black and the camera distorts the immage, so please be kind.  :)

It feels good to have a few good hours - the last few days have been a rough ride!
