Hi Winnie! Each of our bodies work differently and some people require more medications than others. I happen to be someone that can be stable on a low dose of one medication. Does it mean anything about me or how bipolar disorder affects me? Nope!
It is common to struggle to find an maintain a "cocktail" of medications. It took 8 years for my doctors to figure out a single low-dose med would work for me!
There is a possibility for any of us to be over-medicated. If you don't feel that your psychiatrist has your best interest in mind, or is inflexible to explore the option of overmedication, you may want to consider a second opinion.
With that said, the last person on here who decided s/he was overmedicated and went off medications, apparently went manic and then disappeared from the forum. We have no idea what happened to him/her and I am worried!
Your psychiatrist is the one who knows the medications, but it's your job to be totally honest about how you are affected by them!
Short answer - nothing is wrong with you. If you stay and read on this board I think you will notice people with medication lists as long as - or longer than - yours.
Welcome to HW Winnie! :)
