Hi Everyone

How do you deal with spending problems.  When I go through what I consider an episode (and I have had alot of those lately), I can get in to real spending trouble.  The last month I have had about $500.00 in overdraft charges.  What can I do?

  1.    If i go and buy stuff i dont need, here is what i do. I leave the items in the bag with the reciept. That way if i want to i can choose to return the items and get my money back. It helps me not feel so guilty and stupid if i can return 75% of the items.

Thanks

I know i had to file bankrupcy 5 years ago.  Then i got my moms credit cards and spent about $50,000. My mom till this day will ask me what did you spend all that money on.  I just tell her that i have no idea.  Right now I am on cell phones.  Do you know how awfull it feel to go to UPS every couple of days and return a celll phone.  Now when I walk in they say your returning another cell phone?

I HAVE to have new purses! I have to have at least a new one but two and three a day is even better. I don't know why I let it come over me, you can only carry on a day. But now I have to have a matching wallet for each purse and each day I will change purse and wallet. These are not cheap purses and unfortunately are getting more expensive. It used to be that thrift store finds were great, now it is name brand only.

buy something small to get the impulse outta your system. Hit Target, where you can do less damage, rather than the mall. LOL. This works for me, sometimes.

It's not for everyone but I go to yard sales. Or even the Goodwill when the yard sales
are over. I have found some brand new items in both places.
I can spend just a few bucks and come away with a bag full of stuff. Even if I give it away
or never use it I haven't spent much money but it gives me that shopping fix.

I shop online and then leave the shopping cart open for a few days. I usually cancel the order.

I do shop and keep the receipt - and return a lot. Especially if it is new clothes that I want my fiance to look at. I won't drag him into a store for shopping - that's man torture!

And I also do the thrift store thing, except it's surprising how fast little things add up!!

My fiance handles all the bills and I have to work odd jobs to have any spending money. I won't have a credit card! I think the best fix for the shopping thing is DON'T HAVE ANY MONEY!
