Hey everyone...I took your advice and saw a new
pdoc today. I really like her, she took me off everything but the ambien and started me on Seroquel. Can anyone tell me how they've reacted to it, good? Bad? Did it help?

Tks

There have been a few very recent threads. General concensus... Bad. Very, very, very bad.

I had a terrible reaction to the regular Seroquel. Have to try the XR version - just picked it up from the pharmacy today. Not looking forward to it!

The only antipsychotic drug I've tried was Geodon and I lasted less than 3 days on it due to the side effects. I'm a little scared but I go back in 2 weeks to discuss how it's working unless something goes wrong.

The side effects are pretty intense but they go away after 2-3 weeks. i think it's a very effective drug for bipolar, i've been on it for a while now and it still works for me.

Guys please don't be so negative. everyone has different experiences on every kind of drug and it is a reputable drug for bipolar disorder. the fact that you were only on it for 2-3 weeks before you gave it up means you have no idea the effectiveness of the drug. most psychiatric drugs take 2-3 weeks to even begin working so your system obviously has to adjust to it. all i can say is please give the drug a try like you would any other and start taking it at a time where it will be "convenient" for you to be slightly impaired and take it slow when upping the dosage and just give it some time.
