My crying has been so out of control for the last two weeks every day.
And my thinking very negative...I'm super depressed. The only thing I
have any control over is my home so I have to keep it very clean with
everything in order to feel good.

This is new for me and it makes me feel better to push that vacuum and sweat.

I like to pay my bills on time and make my bed and wash all the clothes...
otherwise I compulsively worry about other people in my life and feel horrendous
guilt over my past.

Maybe the cleaning and organizing is creating Order out of the Bipolar Disorder!!!

Good for you! That's definitely a positive way to cope for a lot of reasons. Much healthier than laying around. Plus, it makes it a little easier for your family to deal with.

I've been a little like that lately, with a suicidal twist. I am OK now.

Cleaning helps me tremendously! My counselor a few years back noticed that I clean when under times of stress and pointed out it was a coping mechanism...which makes sense. I feel the same way though...my life feels like it is in such shambles most of the time, that cleaning helps me organize SOMETHING in my life and keep it in order. Sometimes being stressed or manic and working up a good sweat while cleaning can really help me out. Good luck. :)

I am like that too!  I am very organized I think to a point of compulsion!!!

It is when I don't care about doing anything is when I have to worry!

Whatever works and is positive is a good thing!!!

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.

I clean when I'm angry. Would be great if I could learn to do it when I'm depressed. That would ease so much relationship tension when I'm depressed because his main complaint is that I literally sit in the same spot on the couch ALL day.
