I currently take Topamax, and tomorrow I see my GP. I was just curious before hand if someone could tell me what Temporal Lobe Dysfunction is. I keep hearing being associated with Topamax. although I hear alot associated with Topamax, that I don't have. It does seem to help, however I do not think as monotherapy. Thanks if anyone can answer!

I know some people who take Topamax develop problems with thinking, like memory, finding the right words, etc. If you go to crazy meds (google it) they describe it pretty well. If you google temporal lobe dysfunction a whack of stuff comes up! Are you speaking generally or specific to Topamax?

Hey Shannon, haven't seen you on in awhile , hope you are doing ok. Anyhow, I was actually referring to Topamax , because I do take Topamax. I am on 100 mg, went to my doc today and he also prescribed effexor for my depression. I really think that Topamax is helping my mania, but I needed something 4 the depression. Let's see how this pans out. Back to see him in 2 weeks. Thanks for responding!!!

Hey Kitty!

Ahh, yes, the fine balance between not depressed and not manic, a sacred place.I hope the Effexor does the trick for you, it is just as important like you say. I am doing fine. I was scared I was going manic last night , but I think it was too much caffeine which I really shouldn't be ingesting! Anyhow, things have smoothed out and I feel "normal"-I wish all the same for you too! Take care and hang in there!

Shannon
