Just a little background... I am 24, law student with BP. My mom has a more sever BP (she is on lithium) but does not have the aggressive delusions and paranoia that I have. When I mean aggressive delusionals I am talking about reading article on how important being tall is for 10 hours consecutively over a span of 6 months.... and hating people...believing they are going to kill. I dont have hallucinations though. I was fired from two jobs over pretty short time spans because i got into arguments with customers and my boss.
For a long time I was in denial and thought maybe its just my imagination. I was also very cyncial about pyschiatry... believing that it is a sham.
There is also a strong cultural component to my BP.

I take lamictal twice a day = 100 mg each
I take seroquel = twice 50 and then 75 before sleep
I take kemadrin since the seroquel made me have some motor movement issues.

This was all prescribed by a very reputable psychiatrist that I saw during the summer. Now I am at school and although the pyschiatrist a nice guy its not the same.

My important question is - can I take ALL of the seroquel before I go to sleep since when I take it in the afternoon it makes me sleepy and I have to go take a nap. On the other hand it is extremely important that the seroquel be effective since as I mentioned before my BP has a very delusional/bizzare flavor to it.

By the way I started seroquel on 25 a day and had to go up since it wasn't enough.
Overall I am very happy with this cocktail and its doing wonders for me. Without it I don't want to think what would happen.

Hello and welcome. Check out Lamictal and Seroquel , a thread strated by luvmdo. Although none of us our doc's , so we can't tell you when to take something, it is ultimately up to you pdoc. Did you ask him about it? I  have not never taken it before, but there are a few on here that do. Sorry I cannot be more helpful o you.

Right ideally I will discuss this with the new psychiatrist. The thing is that I can only see him on a monthly basis plus as I mentioned before I dont know if I can fully trust him (or he is knowledgeable enough). I wanted to ask if anyone has had any experiences with taking seroquel ONLY once before going to sleep.

Hey , can you call him? I know that others have had trouble taking it in the day , due to being extremely tired. Did you check out the thread on it. Shannon gives some helpful info. , she is a nurse.

Hi there!   Welcome here.

I take all my Seroquel at bedtime, makes me way too sleepy during the day!   But of course, you will need to discuss that with your doctor.  Even tho you can only see him once a month, that doesn't mean you can't ask him questions about your meds!!!!!!   Call him asap, he can advise you on what to do.
