Hi folks. This my first time in the BiPolar section; I've been spending time in the Lyme forum.
I have found so far that those in the forums are very helpful and knowledgeable, and I'm hoping to find help here. 57, diagnosed with anxiety and then added Depression.
13 years ago with Bipolar.

I keep trying to figure out why I have breakthroughs, severe anxiety and depression even with the meds. It makes it very difficult to do much, add impedes my interactions and sales at work (high end retail dept. store).
In advance, thank you.

are you rapid cycling? hi, turtle here. I know ua is busy with stuff so I pop on and say g'day. I reckon a chat with ya doc is the go. any new triggers or stressors? sometimes we just need a med adjustment. sometimes we will sit at a down phase and sudden mania, or we cycle through them quickly. I mean it is a chemical imbalance, finding the right balance is key. I mean therapy, meds and coping skills. does your employer know of the disorder? some are fantastic, others not so. just know that we are here to support you. many healing thoughts.

Hi nclymer,

Welcome to the Bipolar forum :-)!

HT gave you some good advice. Sometimes, you may need to adjust the dosage in your meds, or even the combination. Have you talked to your doctor lately about it? If not, I would suggest you talk to your doc. They would be able to make the med adjustment.

There are also coping techniques you can use. I practice mindfulness. It is very helpful. When I feel overwhelmed, deep breathing helps me. It tends to slow the things around me.

Please know that we are here for you. Keep posting and let us know how you're doing.
