hi everyone~!
i'm new here, and so happy to have found a support group on the computer. i'm wondering if any of you have successfully breastfed while taking lithium, and how your infant did. i'm now 4 months pregnant and trying to plan ahead a bit. i've been doing very well on a reduced dosage of lithium, and am thrilled to be having my first baby. any insight on this would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to Healingwell miss x.
I wasn't on any meds when breastfeeding. In fact I stopped breastfeeding my youngest daughter in order to start meds. She was over a year so it wasn't too big a deal but I wasn't aware I had a choice. Noone ever told me there were med's I could take while breastfeeding.
Hopefully someone will be on that can help you with this. Congratulations on the pregnancy!
Take Care
Ellie
Good judgement comes from experience and alot of that comes from bad judgement.
