i hope everyone has been doing okay, haven't been on in awhile...
i'm still majorly struggling with my meds...going off the antidepressant b/c it seems to be agitating the hmania, so i'm scared once i'm off of the anitdprssnt that i'll be more i'm wheening off of it, i am noticing i'm already more dpressed.  i can't win.  the whole goal is to be stable, but it seems impossible...still on the lamictal now 100mg a day, it just doesn't seem to be working well.
can i get any suggestions on what med combos have worked well for everyone else.  i know we're not professionals, but any suggestions would be helpful.  i'm trying to research, doc not so helpful...thanks guys

I wish I had a magic answer for you and everyone else on this forum so that we all could feel better. I currently am on 1200mg of Lithium and 150mg of effexor and like you and still really feeling depressed. My pdoc even put me on Ritalin to try to jumpstart my antidepressant and so far it has just made me more jittery. I wish you all the luck and hope that you and your pdoc working together can help you out.

Just thought of something reading both posts that you might want to talk to your Pdoc about and that's your thyroid function.  The reason I meniton this is because after I was put on thyroid hormone 'just cause' by an Endocronologist, my Pdoc mentioned that if a person doesn't respond to regular meds, supporting the thyroid often helps.
Mind you, my thyroid related problems had to do with such severe constipation that it's nothing short of a miracle that I didn't have to have a colostomy, but just the same, I found her comment interesting and hope it might help you.
Take care.
