How do you know if you are Bi-polar or just have PMS. My mood swings are directly related to PMS. I have some of the bi-polar tendencies, but not some of the major ones. My mother was bi-polar and ended her own life after she quit taking her meds. It is always in the back of my mind that maybe I am bi-polar but I seem to be way more stable than she was. I have had the same job for 7 years and I have never done anything risky or anything out of the ordinary although I have been known to speak my mind sometimes when maybe I should just be quiet. But overall, I am a very nice person who is only occasionaly despite having some really bad times in my own life that I have struggled with but gotten through. Any advice?

You sound way too normal but that's a good thing! There are different levels of bi polar and my doc told me that some people have a mild form of BP and never know it. Its when it interferes with your life, your happiness, your relationships, your bank account, your job, etc., etc., that people seek help. Or their significant other starts searching for answers to explain these behaviors. I can understand why you think about it though. In my case, some extreme stress at work triggered my symptoms of BP and I literally had a nervous breakdown. Until then I never knew I was BP, I just thought everybody was crazy except me. Then I found out that all these years I was the crazy one!!
Hope this helps. Lazy...

Well, the thing that bothers me is that I am not good with the finances. I over-spend and we are sometimes behind in the bills. We always manage to catch up and we can see the light at the end of our financial tunnel, but I wonder if maybe BP is why I spend too much. We have spent alot of money on our kids sports over the years and now we are borrowing money from the bank for their educations. I do struggle with PMS every month and I know other women that do too but I still always worry about it. Are there any good websites that have info on BP and the symptoms and what to watch for if you think you have it. Is there an on-line test or something?
Thanks
