Dear Gaz:  So very sorry you are going through this terrible time.  In your area you should have a crisis hot line of some sort that you can call when you get this down. If you are feeling desperate call 911.  Please.  When do you get your ECT?  Have you had it before? Please keep in touch...Luv...Lazy

Oh Gaz,

This sounds really horrible -- I'm so sorry -- you poor, poor thing.

Am I right in thinking you've had ECT before? Are these effects that you recognise? and have you talked to your pdoc about this possibility from the treatment? Just knowing that this isn't unusual in the early stages might help. -- I really hope that you can get some reassurance or help from your pdoc on this. -- Sounds like you need to see him/her pretty soon. -- Can you make an appointment?

(((Gaz)))

gaz,

i hope and pray that things are getting better.  if you get too bad, go to the er.  this is what i did in 1972.  they hospitalized me immediately and i stayed a month.  it helped and kept me from doing something more permanent.

i know how bad depression and fear can be.  get help any way you can if it feels like it's getting out of control

Hey Gaz,

I know, it's a pain this illness ... but, have you ever thought about how it might also contribute to your gifts? I know that might sound really silly to you right now, but many successful people have had, and have, bipolar -- politicians, artists, etc. This condition really does seem to go hand-in-hand with talent. Kay Jamison's book is good on this. Once managed properly all that creativity and energy can be funnelled into great stuff -- and you will get to that point -- and then you'll leave suckers like me who don't have the illness for dust!! :)

you know rosie is right.  not that i'm great, but i had a very successful career in the computer industry until i fell down a flight of stairs and permanently put my back out of commission.  there is hope.  just hang in there and keep pushing the envelope.

hope you are feeling better.
