Hi Road Runner,

Welcome to HW! I hope you feel comfortable here and that we can help support you.

Just starting a new thread so that what you posted doesn't get lost in the other thread. If you ever want to start your own thread, just hit the "New Topic" button (sort of top left -- ish! -- on the page) -- and don't worry that you didn't spot this: many new posters don't! :)

Hi Road Runner,

Wow, you do have a lot on your plate. -- I'm so sorry you have all these things to deal with.

You say you have problems taking your meds. -- Is that a physical problem or an issue you have with taking meds in general? I'm sure you have been told before how crucial it is to take your meds conscientiously when you have bipolar: not doing so can trigger the mood swings significantly and cause a great deal of problems. Unfortunately too many people with bipolar resist medication -- and they suffer the more (and unnecessarily) for it. -- Please don't be one of them if all that's stopping you from taking the meds is a misplaced sense that you should be able to cope without them (bipolar simply isn't like that!!).

Do you have a good psychiatrist who you can talk to about your concerns? By good I mean someone who actually listens and helps explain things about the condition and treatment rather than just hands out the prescriptions (which seems all too common!).

What meds are you on? (If you don't mind my asking!!) How long since your diagnosis and how long have you been on the meds? Is the problem with taking the meds a recent thing or has it been an issue from the start?

Look forward to hearing from you again soon.

Hi Roadrunner,
I'm Judy. Welcome to our bipolar group at Healign Well. You will find caring people here who will offer you support & information, as well as sharing our own experiences with you. I am glad you decided to write on our forum.

It sounds like you are having a rough time right now. I have bipolar2 disorder. At times I have rapid cycling and mood swings. Right now with the medications I am on I feel pretty stable. I also have a condition called Psoriatic Arthritis, so I understand the pain of arthritis. We also have a forum for arithritis. I suggest you post on there too, and for the sleep apnea as well. I"m sure there are pople here at Healing Well with the sleep disorder too. And, all the people in these groups suffer from from depression at one time or another.

Tell me more about yourself. I will write to you, and try to help in any way I can.

I hope to hear from you again soon.

Judy

roadrunner,

your handle is my favoite cartoon.  roadrunner cartoons are wasted on children.  and you often find roadrunner skits on main-streem tv and movies.  love it.

there is little i can add to the advice and questions already posed for you.  you must want to change.  and if you want to change you will.  it isn't easy and you can expect the journey to be filled with ups and downs.  but your progression will always be forward.

please keep posting here.  i look forward to your next posts.
