If the Lord could pick a group of people to send out to the world of darkness to be just a glimmer or glimpse of his light, he would pick us, the Bi-polar group. and those who suffere from other forms of Mental illness and diseases .  Why?  what better group to send out to touch the hearts and lives of others who are hurting but those that have been hurt themselves.  I used to curse My illness, now I thank God that I have accepted it, done what I can to manage it, and I asked him to use it for the benefit of others.  He does have a way of working miracles and blessings through things we consider are curses or that are bad.  So.  if he were here to tell us himself these words, this is what it would sound like.  Get a box of tissue out, you will need it.  " My Dear , Dear , Precious Child, all of those time you thought I did not know you were crying, and you felt that you were going through your storms alone.  My child, you were not.  I was there among you, I am always in the midst of the storms, for I am your pilot through them, if but you would just choose me to be, and to give me the wheel.  There is a song that carrie underwood sings, Jesus take the wheel, I have made that my theme song for my new life, and boy is it ever true.  The nights that you were thinking about ending it all, and didnt, it was me, my child that saved you, I dont want to lose you, I need you, many need you, you need you,  I made you so that you could enjoy happiness and life, life and choices you have made for yourself at times, and many times choices that were made for you by others hurt you tremendously.  I could have called them.  My ten thousand angels, but would you have learned all that you have from going through those things.  Remember my Child, with each raindrop that falls to the ground, another glimpse of sunshine is just around; the horizon.  For you are as unique as one of the colors of the rainbow, you dont know that you are not the missing color of the rainbow, you dont know that life without you would be changed.  I need you to stay well and alive for you and for others that will be sent your way.  I gave you the voice, use it, I meant what I said when I said, my love for you is endless, when life, others and yourself have let you down, I will not, I will always be with you always.  For you are me, and I am you, therefore, we will always be united.  I love you my child, and all that I have is yours, all you have to do is to believe and ask, and it will be given unto you.  For remember, you walked in the darkness for just a while, but I held your hand through the shadows, now child, take my hand, trust me, and step into the light, for it shall set you free.

Hi Dry,

Thanks for this post! -- Your religion obviously really helps you with bp and how you think of yourself as useful. I have a similar perspective, though I guess I'm not as actively religious. I do think that the things we go through as individuals are important as a way of increasing the care and awareness in the world.

Thank you for the beautiful poat. I needed it to read it. I'm having a bit of a rough time with some depression.
