Since I started taking the Lofepramine I can't sleep. I take it at night.
That's 2 nights where I've just lain awake all night.
Friday night it was til past 4am. Last night I heard the alarm on my watch go off this morning. It's set for 7am and I haven't changed it back to GMT, so it was 6am.
I just can't sleep. I'm tired, sleepy, but I can't sleep.
My mind isn't active which is the normal problem I have for getting to sleep, I'm just wide awake.

Has anyone else had this medicine and experienced this problem?
The reason why I'm on this medicine is because it won't send me to sleep all the time like amitriptyline, but keeping me awake is going to make me sleepy during the day anyway!

I'm hoping desperately that this is just the initial phase whilst my body gets used to the medicine, but I'm going back to Uni on Tuesday, I really can't be exhausted all the time or I'll never catch up the week I've just had off!

Hi Nicola,

Ironically, I used to get very drowsy with lofepramine! Could you contact your pdoc about this? Or just try taking it at a different time of day? If it's keeping you from sleep, try taking it in the morning. -- Always better to run these things past the doc, but I reckon he/she will see changing the time of day you take this med as a sensible solution.

Let us know how it goes hun!

Heh, just read your comment, but I slept a lot better last night.
I think it's just settling into the new medicine.
