Pysch doc upped serequol to 50mgs help me to sleep but doesn't help that much for my mind as it still seems to want to be all over the place, we are waiting for the results of the MRI and i see him again in a month, until then i am trying my best to relax and not let my mind get the better of me, anyway i would rather not be on sereqeuol as i find it does nothing but help put me to sleep at night. It;s during the day time that my mind is all screwed up but maybe with some stroke of luck the MRI will show something and i can get stable. Please post a response if u wish i could use the advice for what to do thanks Twiggy2

Hi Twiggy, I have bpd and was diagnosed with ADD.  I suffered from the racing thoughts and could not concentrate on a thing. I never completed anything I ever started.  I've been on Seroquel and learned that it doesn't help me sleep, it knocks me out!  I didn't like it at all.  There are other meds that help with sleep.  Trazadone, Topomax etc.  I take Lamictal, Wellbutrin and Adderall.  The Adderall is a miracle med.  I had energy, could focus, it helped with my anxiety.  The last few weeks I have suffered with depression AGAIN.  I get tired of the cycling, it's frustrating and there is always a med change.  My pdoc just added a small dose of Prozac to help pull me back up.  I do recommend the Adderall it does help tremendously.  Do you see a Psychiatrist or do you see a family doc?  I hope you see a pdoc because that's where they specialize.  I wish you luck and I know how frustrating it is to wait another month.

Thanks Loben for your reponse. I had an MRI done still waiting for the results, also i am scheduled for a EEG tommorow. Checking out brain waves etc. I am sticking with only 25mg of serequol at night with the 100mgs of Zoloft and sometimes an herbal sleepy time tea. I am getting more sleep but weird dreams and mild headaches. I feel a bit tired during the day and limit myself on home chores as i also have some back problems and tire easlily. Ive been very jumpy the last couple of days think because i am waiting for the new of the MRI it should pass soon. Anyway i hope things are better for u soon and i will post in the results when i get some. Twiggy2

The racy brain thing with me is that I "hear" my thoughts going round in my head and I can't stop them........or I have a song in my head - sometimes I am able to change the song , sometimes I just make it worse and then I have two songs playing in my head at the same time. Another is scenarios I play over in my mind - I don't realise I'm doing it until I get upset about the thing that hasn't even happened , even when I "snap ot of it" and realise what I'm doing my mind can start the process all over again.

I'm not on any meds as yet - waiting to see what happens.

I to have the same thing kinda it;s weird. I also have flash backs of different things that have been in my past i hate that too cause im not sure how to deal with it sometimes. I hope that i can get some answers from all these tests so i can get help. They don;t last very long as i try to think about other things and when that donlt work i just start to cry for a bit. I should probably go back to cousenelling but didn;t find they helped much either so im am working on things and i tell my husband usually not right away but after i bit i tell him and that also helps to most of the time. Anyway will talk later keep in touch ok. Twiggy2
