Hi, I'm also new. Ive been recently diagnosed with bipolar although ive known it for quite a few years now. I also have anxiety disororder, post tramatic stress disorder, severe depression, and adhd. I cant take sri's because it sets off my manic episodes. i have to be carefull with how much benzos i take because i get suicidal. i'm quite a mess, oh yea and also im a recovering addict and alcoholic. I'm hypersensitive to touch, hearing and sometimes even smell. but not very many people know all this about me unless i tell them. beleive it or not it doesnt all show. i carry myself very well. well most of the time. my primary doc says im a stroke waiting to happen. I dont know how to not let every thing in life bother me. i take everything personally . i always have. i take on everyone elses problems. i dont know how to live without doing that.
stuck in my own skin,
sillygal

Welcome sillygal :-)

I know what you mean - taking on other peoples problems so you don't have the time to face your own.

Well done for getting on the road to recovery yeah

I appreciate the warm welcome. I am looking for all support and people to chat with as possible. I was diagnosed with bi-polar about 2 months ago. I knew I have had a mental disorder for about 4 years but never saught help. My wife married me knowing this but we both had no idea how bad it could get. The past year the "disorder" started to take full control over my thoughts and actions. Until the point where I all but threw away my marriage and any friends - caused by the addiction I had to gambling. My wife said she would leave unless I went to an inpatient or a strong outpatient program. That is where I was able to get my control and passion for life back. I never knew how this disorder can control everything that goes on in someones lives. So I have been diagnosed officailly with bi-polar disorder and also have anxiety disorder. For the past few months I have been reading, praying, journaling, and trying to find out as much as I could about this disorder. We are moving in about a month so I was going to put all that effort into finding a support group here but was wanting one. Looking at this site - it looks like exactly what I need to have to continue the ongoing battle with bi-polar. It is another step I should and can take to learn as much as I can about mental disorders.

thanks for the warm welcome everyone! I look forward to chatting with you all.
