Hi Gaz

I (or should I say my hubbie) has also had a very good experience with Seroquel, although I know many have not.

It has been a lifesaver for him, he has been very seriously depressed for the past 7 months and could not sleep for more than a couple of hours a night for weeks on end.

However, his psych gave him small dose (25mg) to take and it made such a big difference to his sleep. For the first time in months he slept properly on the nights he took it. I am sure the sleep problem was adding to his depression in a big way so this has been great for him. He has to take it every night though at the moment as we noticed the nights he missed he couldn't get to sleep again!

I must say I went to their website and read the side effects which totally freaked me out but to be honest as he is on such a low dose and they are working for him after the past few months we are willing to 'risk' them.

Regarding getting up on a morning, actually my hubbie has taken lots of different sleeping aids and most made him feel very 'drugged up' for the duration of the next day but he has found with the Seroquel that mostly he wakes up feeling fine which is another positive.

Good to hear it is also working for you.

I take 25 mg for sleep as well. I find that I have no difficulty waking in the morning as long as there is coffee available. I think I feel better during the day as well when I've taken it the night before. I don't necessarily sleep more, but I think the quality of my sleep is better.
Good judgement comes from experience and alot of that comes from bad judgement.
You just have to accept that some days you're the pigeon, and some days you're the statue.
