Good judgement comes from experience and alot of that comes from bad judgement.

Zomese, if you could have anything for your birthday (any real thing -- no bleedin' World Peace) what would you get?

Mine was a month ago. I turned 26. For some reason I find myself extremely depressed around my birthday. I think that it has to do with the fact that I am never happy with where i am in my life at that time. I am hoping that it will change, but the truth about the disease is that you never really know.

Mine's 9/24 as well, Joseph. I was sad this year too. Maybe it was the moon, or Mars, or something astrological like that.

Hi Serafena and everyone,

I feel sort of materialistic saying this, but since you said it had to be a real thing I really want a new BMW or Infiniti 4 door (I love both cars) loaded with all the extras especially a navigation system! I would like it to be in the gun metal grey. Thats the really dark grey almost black color w/ leather interior.

tongue What about everyone else?

Zomese --- ooooh. Pretty car. Yes. Me too. You can dream about materialistic things. It's allowed. Spending your tax money and running over school children on the way to buy said car is materialistic.

All I want right now is an IPod. Isn't that lame? A really nice IPod, in a pretty color. Oh, no. A trip to Paris. Yes. That too.

I am sure that you have also observed that this is a very common b-day.  Looks as if we were both New Years love children of sorts...lol.  Personally speaking for myself, I believe that the depression coincides with me not being where I think that I should be at that age.  It used to be cute to be an underachiever at the age of twenty-three, then twenty-four, however I am in the later half of my twenties now and need to really get things together.  As much as i hate to admit it, I am a lonely person.  I had to suck up some major pride just to type that out.  Birthdays tend to be a lonely time.  As much as us Libras love for everything to be balanced, I do believe that our narcisicstic ways can get the better of us if complete harmony isn't intact.

Cheers...

So far, for those that have put their year along with their birthdate, I am the oldest.  HMPH!  Not sure I like that - devil :-)

relax Wen...I got you beat!!!!!!!!!!!!! We share the day, just not the year!!!!!!!!!!!!! So far, I got you ALL beat. I am trying to convince myself that REALLY doesn't make me THAT old...because I still have young kids...

Whenever someone complains about their age...I aways say...IT BEATS THE ALTERNATIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I still have tomorrow. Many others can't say that. We've earned our wisdom!

Okay people..I never started feeling old or lying about my age (lol) until just this year!

My bday is 11/22/69.  I was actually born on Thanskgiving Day and it's come around again for me.  Yes...I'll be 38.  I just got a haircut today because I looked at pictures from Halloween and realized my face has caught up to my age and I now need bangs to hide this huge landing strip people call my forehead!  I'm not sure at what point in time the space between my eyebrows and my hairline somehow spread out but it did.  I've also learned not to get too close to the mirror in the bathroom because then I notice the crow's feat near my eyes and the fine lines taking up residence in the space between my nose and my upper lip.

And while I'm on the subject, why is it that every time I have something to eat, my pants seam tighter until the next morning?  This didn't happen to me until my age started with the number 3 and in the double digits.  I work out 3 times a week and have an athletic build but yet no matter how many hours I spend on that stupid...stupid treadmill and stairmaster, my butt stays in the same place; not any lower, but not any higher either?  I used to eat almost anything I wanted and never give the contents a second thought.  I look at the menu at the restaurants now and search for extra fiber to keep me regular and make sure my food doesn't have anything spicy on it because lord knows I'll be in for it within 30 minutes after I eat it...and so will anyone around me.  I snore.  I have woken myself up with my own friggin snore!  Does this have to do with my body aging too???

Wait a minute...what was the question again?

Okay, okay...as the seemingly oldest one present it seems I must be the one to bring reason to the mix here...people, people...CALM DOWN! Age is a wonderful thing. (And GOD KNOWS I am as VAIN as the next person!) Think of it this way....if you were granted the wish that you could suddenly go back to 18-20 years old again, but you CAN"T take all you have learned with you...would you want to do it? I guarantee that most of you wouldn't...therefore, RELAX. With age comes wisdom...and let's face it, the more we know, the better we live, and the happier we are. If that requires a few lines, a bit of fiber, less food spice in order for the REST of our lives to be spicier and fulfilling...so be it. It certainly beats the alternative. I have a 86 year old disabled aunt who is as feisty as if she were still 25, still a PHENOMINAL working artist, and a wise and wondrous woman. We are ALL babies in comparison to her age, and we should ALL be so lucky to still be vibrantly perusing life with as much vitality and drive as she is still. 80% of her friends are my age or YOUNGER! Life holds many wonders ahead of all of you...just remember, you are not at the end of your journey, but just the beginning!!!!!!!!!!!! So enjoy it with gusto!!!!!!!!!!! LFW
