She sounded so good!  Since she can't get to a computer and Jo-Ann's computer blew up, she wanted someone to let everyone know how she is.  She's fine.  There's not going to be any surgery, at least for now.  They're still trying to figure out what's gong on with her colon.  She's hooked up to an IV for antibiotics and pain med.

She sounded happy that she'd had real food for supper tonight.  I asked her about the green Jell-o!  She said they'd tried to give it to her twice, but she'd refused it.

She's not sure how long she'll be in the hospital, but it'll be for a while.  So, let's continue to pray for our dear MK and her doctors.

Thanks for the information, Becky. At least she is comfortable, warm and begin fed. LOL Hope they get some answers for her soon. Lauri (dxed 4/11/96)

Mk, I am so sorry to read this. Obviously if you have been there long enough to turn down the green jello that is long enough to warrant a visit from PCE.... I have my pink boa and the pink champers is just the correct temp. we should be there in time to have a nice game of scrabble, I know I will spell better and a whole lot faster, if I have little pink bubbles on the brain. LOL Hope to hear by the time you read this you are home again and we have to reroute the plane. Meanwhile, warn them there will be a pink parade coming through to brighten your day. Love and best wishes, and thanks beck for passing on this info.

Thanks Becky for posting for me! Thanks to all for the prayers and get well wishes. I came home this afternoon and am trying to get mail and computer stuff somewhat caught up before lying down. I feel much better. All the doctors could come up with was a possible pylonephritis. I really hurt but there was not a lot of infection, etc. in the tests run. The CT scan showed inflamatory tissue but again it was not an obvious differentiation. I will still be on antibiotics at home this week and I intend to rest. My blood sugar and blood pressure had been high for a couple of weeks and now they are down to very normal numbers for diabetes. So maybe every so often I just need a little cleansning? The surgeon said I should absolutely never have surgery unless gangrene or something life threatening set in because with no muscles behind the outer skin no sutures would ever hold and I would just pull apart. I've known that I can not waste time getting antibiotics or treatment if anything is strange. Sorry we didn't have time to arrange the PCA. The nurses I had were great and really fun. They would have loved seeing you all "in the pink". As a matter of fact I had a room mate for part of a day who has Altzheimer's. They had a monitor on her that played a little tune when she got up. I told the nurse it would drive me crazy soon because it was an awful do do do do do tune. She laughed and started dancing around the room singing it and told me all I needed to do was get in the groove and dance. They were a really fun group! I did not eat any green jello!!!! Thanks again for your love and prayers, MK

Ok now I am worried. What is wrong with this picture? One of the greatest scrabble players just blew three little letters. PCA? Pink Cloud Express Now the question is are you on that strong of a pain pill or what is going on? Vic said not to worry no one thinks clearly after even a short stay in the hospital and to tell you, we are glad you are home. Take care, Hugs Joyce

Oh great, call me on a stinken little letter. Vic is right you are lucky to be able to think at all, let alone think clearly. Whatever! LOL can't use ACRONYMS in Scrabble anyway!

Now let me tell you more about last week. You know we have been trying to sell our old house. We signed a contract in Nov for closing by Dec 21st requested by buyer. Just before that date we learned the buyer was in the middle of getting a divorce and the lender wanted her parents in on the contract. No problem closing would be before the end of the year. Well every week something happened putting it off, I could write a book. So back to last week. I am lying in the hospital bed and DH calls that there was a phone message from the title company. I called and it was a new title company, getting info again for the closing. The lady said she could come to the hospital for closing, no problem there. The next day which was Friday our Realtor called and said, "you are not going to believe this, but...." They buyer had a nervous breakdown and it caused a stroke, she is in the same hospital. Well, I guess that ends that saga, poor woman is only in her 40's life has not been great to her, evidently.

Then on Saturday when I got back from my CT scan DH says to me, "Want another shocker?" He handed me the paper with a big article about our former next door neighbor. He had been hit by a car and died. He was 60, a lawyer and former judge with a second wife and a darling little daughter. Remember all the times we have said we could be hit by a car tomorrow? It happens. It is very upsetting to me that the little girl who spent a lot of time with her daddy won't have him anymore.

Today begins a new week, whatever has taken place in the past couple seems to be clearing. My blood sugar is only 88 this morning!!!!!! It hasn't been that low in a couple years. I am going to rest for a few days and try to keep it that way.

Hugs MK

Glad to see that you are home and feeling better. At least your sense of humor is still intact! Hope you continue to improve. Send some warm thoughts northward. Windchill is expected to be -25 or lower on Tuesday and Wednesday. It was 40+ today. Will be 8 or 10 by morning. Spring can't come soon enough. Lauri (dxed 4/11/96)
