Annette - born in NE Ohio, now living in SW Ohio but my heart and soul is still out west.  Have lived in Burbank, Hollywood Hills, Savannah, Cordova (Memphis), Scottsdale and now in Morrow (north of Cincinnati, south of Columbus - don't blink you will miss it)

Diagnosed on 12/15/1999 at age 36 while first and only child was four months old.  Apparently the cancer grew as my belly was growing.    Double mastectomy done on 12/30/1999.  Not the best way to welcome in the new year but thanks to the morphine drip I welcomed in the New year starting in New Zealand and ending with the US.  No  positive nodes but was stage IIB.  Did 6 months of CMF.  Did tamoxifin for 6 months and was put on arimidex for sanity's sake.  Had ovaries removed in October of 2001 and reconstruction in October of 2000.

Peg, 52 (sigh), from Westerville, Ohio (born and raised in Fairborn, OH)

Diagnosed stage II invasive lobular June 1999, lumpectomy with axillary dissection (one positive node), AC/Taxol and radiation. NED since then. Mother had modified radical mast 20+ years ago, and she's still kickin', one sister had lumpectomy about 10 years ago, and then recurrence requiring mast (with tram flap reconstruction) while I was doing radiation...ON MY BIRTHDAY, how rude. Other sister thankfully still healthy. Three women, four cancers, THREE SURVIVORS.

Married 30 years this September (to same man, LOL!). 2 kids, son graduating from high school this year, and daughter graduating next year. We'll be poor for a while, thanks to college expenses.

Christi, 39 now - will be forty in August and I am excited!, dx in April of 1999 when I was 34, ER/PR+, Her2neu -, double masts w/expander reconstruction, 6 months of A/C & Taxol, no rads, currently taking Tamoxifen and will complete that in December, talking with oncologist about medicine options after that (Femara or Arimidex).

Live in Atlanta, GA, great husband of 17 years, 2 wonderful children (Nicholai almost 10 and Helena just turned 6).  Lost my mother to bc in 1989 when she was 52 years old, my older sister was dx w/ DCIS when she was 35, paternal grandmother with bc and mom's sister was dx w/bc though that did not take her life.  Am going for genetic counseling at the suggestion of oncologist to see if they think genetic testing is needed.  This will determine if I have hysterectomy or oopherectomy and then can take Femara.

I am 5 years since dx but I try not to think about that too much as I don't want to jinx myself.  Just literally try to take it day by day.
