Thanks, Nora aka RubyShooZ. I've been perusing your blog and I must say that although I am not a victim of this ailment, sometimes I totally understand your own thought processes. A few times I would read your own thoughts on my monitor and wonder if I had not typed them out myself! Ha hah...*ahem*...pardon me.

Hi my name is Maggie, I'm from Pennsylvania, I have 3 children ages 13, 9, and 4.  I was diagnosed w/ StageIIB breast cancer with 7 out 16 nodes positive, also Her2+ in Oct. 2005 at the age of 31. I had mast, chemo (adriamycin, cytoxin, taxol), rad, and just finished my 12 months of Herceptin this past March.  I just had my first set of scans done since completing treatment and was told for the first time in 1 yr and 8 mnths that I am cancer free.  God willing I stay that way!  I just came upon this site and decided to tell about myself because I was not able to find a support group while going through all this, and this is the first time I can share my story with people who can truly understand what I am going through.  I am glad I found it!

Hi I am Mel, I am 41 and I have a 13 yo daughter.  I haven't been dx yet.  I just had my second mammogram and it showed an asymmetrical density.  I go back Thursday for more test.  Both my mother and grandmother died of cancer although it wasn't breast cancer.  Glad I found this site.
Thanks

Eve from California. Just turned 50 and fabulous! Diagnosed in 2006 had bilaterial mastectomy and hysterectomy. Went from Tamoxifen to Arimidex to Aromasin and having horrible side effects. Just started a new online business and have 2 dogs a wonderful husband and 3 gorgeous step-grandkids. Tested positive for BRCA. Had chemo before the bilaterials. Right now...trying to adjust to the new me.

Brigetta from Tri-Cities, WA moved here 6 months ago from Central Valley, Ca. Diagnose July 9, 2006. Have what I know so far to be early stage II, Invasive Ductal Carc. with some DCIS. Had Lumpectomy on 7-9. Have been found to be Hormone neg. and HER 2 +. Have been advised to have mastectomy, do to family history and agressiveness I guess. I have opted for Bilateral, surgery is on August 14th. I hope this will help me not have to revisit at leat this part of it all again. Surgeon doesn't do immediate reconstruction, not sure exactly why. I am scared to death and depending on Xanax to get through the days until them. I am 47 the same age my mother was when she died of BC 30 years ago. I know things have change so much since then and mine was found at a much earlier stage. But it doesn't take away all the fear. I have a great husband of 23 years. Two Fantastic kids, Heather 17 a senior this year. Cameron my son is 14 and starting H.S. this year.

Melissa, 34, NJ.  Mammo/ultrasound BIRADS level 4.  Anxiously awaiting appointment with breast surgeon in 2 days.

My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 35. She had 2 lumpectomies, a mastectomy/hysterectomy, and now it has spread to her hip, cheek, lungs, and skull.

Husband left me in February (the day after Valentine's-how sweet) and I am currently in the process of divorce.  Luckily, our beautiful 4 year old daughter reminds me of ME!

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.

Patti, 55 yrs old, dianosed April 2005, chemo, surgery, radiation. As my husband says on my second life. Surgery showed no cancer. Still going through reconstruction surgeries. Walked in The 3 Day last year, Walking again this year. Have a Daughter, 2 sons, 2 grandsons and a granddaughter... I walk for them and all future generations. Sure would like to see this gone.

One benefit from walking, showed me I was back. Not that I ever did this before, but in some ways I am better than before. Every day is a blessing and I try to enjoy them all. God bless you all in you struggles.

Rocky, I love your spirit and outlook! Just consider Friday 13th a good omen. I was also diagnosed on a Friday 13..in fact it was Good Friday, 8 years ago. The waiting is worse than the treatment. Usually the side effects that you have after the first chemo will be what you will have after each of them. Remember that there are meds to counteract most of the side effects. Just hang in there and keep smiling and laughing and crying. I had "fun" w/ my cancer and still do today.

Hugs..

Hi ladies,

I'm Theri from Missouri. I'm 35 years old with 4 children.... 20yr old, 17yr old, 3 yr old, 15 month old and a grandbaby who is 3 months old.
This is actually my second time with being diagnosed with breast cancer. First time was in 2002 at 28 yrs of age with IDC Stage IIA triple neg., 4cm with no node involvment. Did the lumpectomy with chemo & then radiation. I thought all was fine until a couple of weeks ago when I discovered a lump in the opposite breast. Had the biopsy.... exact same type of cancer. Sentinal nope biopsy scheduled for this Monday, which is completely freaking me out since the only thing I can imagine is the worst. Bi-Lat mastectomy scheduled for the following Monday and then I will also have my ovaries removed since I found out I carry the BRCA 1 mutation.

I'm so glad to have found this site.

Hi, I'm Mary from OH, 42 yrs old, 2 children, 1 grandaughter.
I found a lump in my left breast in Sept. It was Type II Invasive Carcinoma, Triple negative. The lumpectomy had clear edges and my lymph nodes were negative. I have the BRCA I gene so I am now sitting here after my second Chemo treatment of Adriamyocin and Cytoxin. After two more I will have 12 weekly Taxol treatments. After that I will have the Bi-Lateral Mastectomy. I never want to go through this again.

Mary

Hi to you all, I am Jocelyn, diagnosed March 2000, left mastectomy, lymph nodes taken, no further treatment required just Tamoxifen for 5 years and now Femara forever. I thank God every day for my life and for sparing me the torture that so many of you ladies have suffered with chemo and radiation. I live 4 hours north of Sydney, Australia and I am now 56 years of age. Good luck to you all.

My name is Jennifer, I'm 28. I know this is a breast cancer forum, but I really couldn't find any other category that fit me. Since my cancer is of the "female" sort, I thought I'd try to fit in here. I was diagnosed with Stage II-A ovarian dysgerminoma in June 2006. It is a VERY rare ovarian cancer, comprising only 1%-3% of all ovarian cancer diagnoses. It occurs in late adolescence to early adulthood (I was 23 at the time of my diagnosis). I had my left ovary and tube taken in 6/06, aggressive chemo through 12/06, and went into remission. Then I relapsed in 2/07 and had a mass removed from the right ovary. I have been in remission since late Feb. of 2007. I already had a son at that time, so my doctor tried to convince me to have a complete hysterectomy. At 23, and being unmarried at the time, I was very much against that. It's a good thing too, because I found my soul mate and married him in 2008, and welcomed our beautiful daughter Isabella to our family 9/2/09! Now I'm facing something really scary,though... I went to the ER with severe abdominal pain 2 weeks ago, and a CT scan found lesions on my ovary, right adrenal gland and liver. I had a follow-up MRI yesterday to investigate further. Now I'm sitting here with my phone in a death grip, waiting for that make-or-break-it call from my doctor with the results...

I am 52 years old, I experienced discharge from my nipple in the rt breast in November 2009, I delayed seeing a Doctor because I didn't have any medical coverage..Recently I contacted the American Cancer society for help, I was giving information on where I could go in my area for treatment. They were very helpful. Today I had a Mamogram followed by and Ultra-sound after the Ultrasound Dr. came in and discussed my possible diagnosis but could not rule out either way. He diagnosed my condition as a complex cyst rt nipple. He immediately requested a biopsy. He advised me that Complex breast cyst have a 4 percent chance of being cancerous. He was very re-assuring and assured me that he would make sure I was taken care of..
