Thanks to those that expressed warm thoughts. When she called me on Saturday, she was in tears and could hardly talk. I was instantly taken back 8 1/2 years ago to my own diagnosis and knew that very dark place she was in. Luckily, she is getting all her tests and appointments right away so she is getting answers and taking control, has much less of that waiting game to play. She had MRI of breast and brain. Brain is clean, but she has 2 tumors plus calcs. Bone scan and chest x-ray are clear. That is especially great since she has a cough that won't go away, they are afraid of lung mets. MRI of the nodes looks good so far. ER/PR negative (drats) and Her 2 strongly positive. SHe's looking at probably a mastectomy, AC, Taxol and then Herceptin.

I brought over my books on Monday and she was in a much better place and I had some peace, seeing that she was moving forward.

ANd Bev, I already told her that you shared the same age and 2 tumor status, and you are one of our LONG term survivors. Thanks!

Lori, I am sorry your friend is having to deal with all of this. It is wonderful that she has a good doctor who is looking in all the corners and n ot just taking a SWAG approach. We never know in the beginning how far this will go. I wonder reading what all is being checked for her if it would have made a difference in my daughter's condition nine years later. Who knows. Bev certainly is a good model for her to follow. I always think of Bev as being so full of life, so pretty, happy and smiling. I'm sure there must be pictures of Bev on the picture post. You can even give her a face to think about.

I'm sure you are a strong influence on her and how she accepts all she is going through. You are also upbeat and positive thinking. Bless you for all you are doing for her.

Hugs MK

I'm sorry to hear about your friend.  But, she has you to guide her through and that will mean so much to her.  Let her know that all of us will be with her through her treatments via the PCE!  We haven't had a trip in a while, have we?
L & H,
Kathy
