Hi All,
I walked at my second Relay and it felt kind of lonely with you all not with me this time. It was so very special in LV. I walked the survivors lap carrying your picture. My dear friend Rose Mary walked with me and it is always a privilege to walk with her and call her friend. She gave the opening remarks. This was hard to do because we had just been told about a young woman in town with breast cancer whose daughter had just been diagnosed with
adrenal gland and kidney cancer at 5 years old. I am sick of fund raising and everything else. I want a cure and I want it now.
Rose Mary signed 21 years of survivorship. She really can't believe that we don't have a cure by now.
Last week, she presented me with a beautiful shawl made for me at the Shawl Ministry at church. She actually knitted it for me. What an incredible gift. It was prayed over around a circle at church before being presented to me. I will cherish it always.
Hugs and Love, Di

Di, What a lovely gift, I am sure you will treasure that shawl forever. There is a walk in Louisville this weekend and another Making strides against BC the 24th. I too will be carrying our group picture in that walk. They don't have a survivors walk, but just the same I will take you all with me. Good to see you here.

Love
Sara

Today is a gift, that's why they call it the present!

Tell us more about the shawl ministry. It sounds interesting. I love to knit and perhaps that is something I can do. Hugs MK

Hi MK and Sara,
MK, This is the poem that came with the shawl
Let us pray this blessing of healing
"Please receive this shawl
Curl it around you
Close it over you
Like child's play
And enter into
The warm,dark,quiet
Stillness
There you can rest
Wait for healing
Make friends with time.
Let your body
Breathe in
The secrets of the shawl.
Feel the light
Reach into your bones
Mending,knitting,
Weaving them together
In a new way.
Birthing a new body
Creating a new future."
Rachel Harris from Knitting into the Mystery
Around our gathered circle(s), this shawl has been passed through our praying hands and been blessed by our loving hearts.

MK, They make shawls for those going through tough times
If you knit, I'll bet you could begin one. We certainly know enough people going through tough times.
Sara, Let us know when you will be walking so we can think of you. Hugs and love to both, Di
