Friday I took my husband to chemo.  He always sleeps all day because of the Benedryl that they give along with chemo.  But when the Taxol was finished the nurse could not get him to awaken, six nurses, a PA and finally his onc came and couldn't get him to wake up.  So they called the ambulance and we went to the hospital.  His heart was "tacky" so they put him on a monitor.  He was also very confused.  By the time he got to a room it was 2 am.  I had made arrangements for my dogs so I could stay.  Saturday he was taken for a head MRI and it really set him off conufsion wise, so all day Sat he was pulling plugs and talking like he was in the Navy again.  Even insisted the nurses show their Navy ID when they tried to medicate him.  Don't know if a heart medication they were giving him to get his beat smooth caused the confusion or what, but when it was taken away he slowly came back to know where he was.  He is still confused but not way off.  I stayed with him the entire weekend and we came home yesterday.  So we are back to a normal week, only blood work to be done on Friday by the visiting nurse.  Then next Friday the 21st he goes back to have his Zometa, a Petscan and lab work.  After that the onc will evaluate the chemo situation.  We are not sure what caused the unresponsive reaction that sent him to the hospital.  So I best get going I need to go to the drug store and get new meds for him and get some groceries in the house.  Thanks for prayers and best wishes.  Love MK

OMG, MK, I am so sorry you are going through all this. Hugs to you and Chuck and the family. Stay well, this has to be emotionally and physically draining, don't forget to get the rest you need. Wishing you the best...

I second Lori's comments. I hope they can get all this figured out soon and get Chuck on a smoother course of treatment. You two have been on choppy waters too long! You must be totally exhausted. Rest up.

Love and hugs...

Actually by staying with him in the hospital and not having the long drive back and forth helped a lot. I napped when he napped. Now that he is home, though, he is not eating much and still napping and still confused. I'm not sure what to do or think. I think he is realizing that he is not going to be back on his feet and is just dealing with it the best he can. I'm doing fine. Amy is still here and that helps but she will want to go home soon, I know and I can't blame her. Thanks for caring. MK

How frightening, MK. I can't imagine the panic you must have felt. So sorry life is giving you such serious challenges. Know that comforting thoughts are coming your way. Sending a big cyber hug, Lauri
