Seeking confirmation I'm not losing my mind. [But be warned, both my husband and friends claim it's way too late for that!!]

Seriously, I'm on letrozole and though my activity level has almost returned to normal (I'm walking daily and hiking each weekend), as well as going both vegetarian and organic, and I am not able to lose weight at all.

Has anyone experienced the same thing?

Thanks.
Gayle

Hi, Gayle. I haven't been ignoring your post, I was just hoping someone who has taken femara would answer you. I have to tell you, I had a heck of a time with my metabolism after chemo... I had to put my hubby on the Atkins diet a couple of years ago, and I shed quite a few pounds (about 30), and keep it off pretty well as long as I stay away from the carbs. That's a big leap from the vegetarian/ organic diet you're on, I know! I know that femara blocks estrogen, and estrogen is one of those things that helps us keep our "girlish" figures, so it only makes sense to me that Femara could cause weight gain. My estrogen levels bottomed out during chemo during my third treatment... next treatment, I had gained two pounds. Next treatment, 2 more pounds... and so it went! I was 36 at the time, and menopause was permanent. Hope someone with femara experience will post as well.

Hugs...
