Hi, Jam. I'm so sorry to hear about your diagnosis, but glad you found us. What kind of treatment are you on? Knock on wood, I'm NED and have been for many years, but we have a few friends who pop in from time to time who are Stage 4. I hope some of them will respond to your post. I know some of them feel like they might scare away newcomers, but I have to tell you, they are my heroes. Many of them have been fighting mets for years and enjoying every minute of living life. To those of us who know them, they are an inspiration and true heroes among us.

Hugs...

I really want to talk to someone that is Stage 4. I need to know things that only they can help with. I am trying out my 3rd chemo regiem. My doctor is going to re-scan me in January to see if the chemo is making a difference. My liver is like a spotted easter egg and that is the biggest concern. I still have my tumor in my right breast and they don't want to do any surgery until my liver is all clear. If you know of anyone who is willing to talk to me that would be great. Thanks!

If you don't mind Debbi, had your cancer spread to other locations and if so, where?  Were you ever given a prognosis?

Yes, I have mets to the bone. I also had some spots on my liver. I posted most of this under the post below yours..think that it is titled "Concerned Husband....". This is a very managable disease. There are new meds that are being introduced. I can remember that when I was told that my cancer was back, I thought it was a death sentence. I didn't want to let my family or friends know that I felt this way. One night I called an 800# for Y-Me and spoke w/ a gal that had the same diagnosis that I had b een given. I felt much better and my attitude changed. You just have to get beyond the fear and start living. Do whatever it takes for you to beat this darn disease. Keep coming here to talk. We have been where you are and know and understand how you are feeling. It really helps to talk and share your feelings. If I can help you, please let me know.

Hugs

I'm trying to remain positive for my family's sake if nothing else. I was told today during chemo treatment that they are going to retest me the first week of November to see if anything has changed. I'm weirded out by it because I wasn't suppose to be tested until January. My doctor is really worried about the neuropthy in my hands, feet, and leg. Everything feels like its alsleep. I'm on the maximum dose of neurotin already and it isn't helping. Thanks for responding so quickly. It means alot.
