Hi friends--Just wanted to let you know that Jen is still hanging in there, although she could really use your prayers & a card shower.
She has been in the hospital since Saturday morning for high temps. She is still getting chemo. Her family has been sick since October & she finally ended up with a pretty bad pneumonia.
When they admitted her, her red count was low in spite of procrit. They ended up transfusing her. SHe is feeling better after the blood, but also had reactions to it.
SHe is on some pretty hefty IV antibiotics and still regularly spikes temps--last night was 104. She knows when her tylenol is due because she starts to get the chills about 1 hr before.
Poor baby--she has been raked over the coals. She is trying to be so strong, but hasnt been able to see the baby for a couple of weeks due to illness. Her mom is currently watching the baby. Her DH is hanging in there working & caring for the other 2 kids.
Jen actually drove herself to the hospital. I gently reamed her about THAT one. She agreed to call me next time.
Please consider sending her a card.If not, say some prayers, light some candles... This sweet lady could use some hugs.
email me at my aol.com address which is mikki630 if you need her addy again
I am neither made or unmade by happenings around me, but by my reaction to them.
May this disease NEVER be allowed to take another wife, mother, daughter, sister, lover or friend........

You can choose to look UP or DOWN--it's all about putting perfume on a pig. It is still a pig and it STILL stinks, but it stinks BETTER!
