Hi again,
For my metastatic cancer (mets under my left arm that can't be surgically removed), I've had 4 AC, 4 taxotere, (delivered the baby, had surgery), then three weeks later had two more rounds of AC.  Since my MUGGA scan (heart scan) showed my ejection fraction went down a bunch, my doc switched me to Xeloda (1500 mg, 2x a day).  Can you tell me of your experience with Xeloda?  How well did it work?  How were your side effects?

Jen, I have been wondering about you too! Good to see you back. I like Lori don't have any experience with Xeloda, but just wanted to say Hi! and we have been thinking about you.

Welcome back! I have no experience with Xeloda, either, but I know others have. I'm just glad to know you're still with us. Take care.

Hi Jen.  By now you have been on the xeloda for a few weeks.  Hope its treating you well.  I did xeloda for 3 months.  Unfortunately, it did not shrink the armpit lymph node tumor that I had.  I really didnt have too many side effects from the xeloda.  My feet and hands turned brown.  Feet were so dry and peely/flaky.  Kerasal foot ointment worked the best for me.  I developed fungusy rashes on the back of my legs from my butt down.  Not too pretty, had to go to the dermatologist and get an ointment, cream and a powder to put on top..  Just report any rashes you get.  The worst side effect for me was the fatigue.  Hope you breeze through.  After the xeloda, I went on the Navelbine and that worked amazingly for me, I am still on it almost 10 mos. now.
Happy Holidays Jen, kiss that baby for me.

Jen -- I don't post much, but I've been around a long time. I took Xeloda for about 4 months and unfortunately the tumor under my arm did not shrink, but everyone is different -- this may be your miracle drug.  The side effects I had were dry feet and hands.  I slathered on Udder cream night and day and it helped some.  Change the shoes that you wear often as some shoes would cause blisters, others did not. There was fatigue as well, but I also take bi-weekly Herceptin (#250+) and who knows where it comes from.  The best of luck to you.  Cherish each day with that beautiful girl.

Hugs - Jackie
