I have no new news but have had a couple of good days until today. I guess the problem is is that since Dec. 1, I have hardly eaten ANYTHING. I'm sure stress is the cause but i know the importance of eating especially now but with no appetite and the thought of food makes me nauseas. I have lost 14 pounds and today the lightheadedness and weakness set in . A friend of mine sells this product from Lifesource call Body Balance. It is a liquid whole food supplement. (checked with drs. completely safe). So I tried that and was able to get up and do a few things. I think I am trying to be so strong and upbeat for my family that I am not paying attention to the terror going on inside me.

I have my first appt with my onc tomorrow. Will post when I know more.

Hugs to everyone...............Sherry

Yes you need to eat and rest. Those are both important in regaining your health. Supplemental drinks are ok but you need to eat real food and use supplements when you need extra. We're with you, so hang in here........... Hugs MK

Sherry:

I can so relate.  I stop eating under stress, too.  I've lost like ten pounds in two weeks.   The thing I immediately thought of, though, is how hard it must be to see the weight loss now that you've gotten a diagnosis.  I really hope you can eat soon.  Maybe some relaxation exercizes will help calm your system down?  I meditate on a number, a neutral one, so I can minimize the extraneous thoughts as much as possible.  I try to imagine, picture, the number in my head.  Then, when I notice that I've drifted in thought, I say "ok" and go back to the number.  I do this for ten minutes, sitting, with my eyes closed.  It calms my system down and after practice the number becomes a relaxing stimulus.  The thing to remember with this is that you can't keep on thinking of the number for any extended period of time, your mind will drift and go here and there.  The "exercize" is bringing it back as many times as you can.  Even if you only thought of the actual number twice in the ten minutes, you've still done it, because you've sat with your eyes closed for ten minutes and the number becomes associated with that.  Try it out, maybe doing it every day will cause your body to calm down a little and allow you to eat.

I hope that helps.  I really would like to hear about you eating more.

Ellen,

Thanks for your words of encouragement. I am doing a little better as far as eating. I am at least eating one, although small, meal a day. Hubby took me out for my birthday Friday and did manage to make him feel better by eating at least half of my steak which is my favorite food in the world. LOL.

I am completely done with my Xmas shopping. This is the first year I have EVER done that. So at least im filled with Christmas spirit and I have a brother that I used to be extremely close to but we drifted apart due to some family differences and I found out he is flying in from VA next week to spend some time with me before my surgery. That made me smile especially since they weren't coming for Christmas. Check back later.....Sherry

Sherry,

Try to enjoy the holidays and especially time spent with your brother and family.  It's hard to keep the focus off of the nightmare but try to enjoy yourself and don't let the BC steal your joy!!!  It's easier to say and harder to live, I know, I'm a two time survivor but I have determined to enjoy my time here on earth to the utmost of my ability.  BC took away my hair, my chest, my peace for awhile but I refuse to let it take away fun times with my family and friends!  It's hard to say this because today's one of my blue days....but hey, tomorrow will be better...

Many prayers will be going up for you - when is you're surgery - I'll be sure to say a special prayer on that day.

After that original earthquake and a few aftershocks, I went to war. I completely made up my mind to give this a good fight. Keep your mind of how you are going to win. Let us know how its going. Joyce

That's right!  Don't ever give up the fight!!!  This is a fight - you can roll over and let it have you - or you can fight!!!  We choose to fight and enjoy every minute of our lives.  BC helps put things in perspective.  Dust, dirty clothes, complete meal with meat, bread, one veg, one carb, etc.  not so important anymore.  Have fun with your kids, read a book, watch a good movie, take care of yourself and don't sweat the small stuff!!! It ain't important!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Yeah, I'm from the South)

Read all you can about your options, question your doctors, do what you all decide is best but most importantly - LIVE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
