hello...finally i am home!  surgery went well but hernia was 'more complicated' than expected, i guess there was alot of stuff to shove back in the hernia opening....so they had to make a bigger incision and ouch, ouch. ouch.  stitches and staples. when i woke up in recocery i was nausues (DID THEY LISTEN TO ME WHEN I TOLD THEM ONLY ZOFRAN WORKS FOR MY NAUSEA IN THE PRE-OP APPT?! of course not)...so apparently they ran thru anzamet (?) phenergen and 1 other before giving me zofran.... took a couple hours longer in recovery.... hubby was real worred because they wouldn;t let him see me and he didn't know WHY... anyway i stayed overnight and i am home now but moving OH SO SLOWLY and on percocet and advil.   i already kinda overdid it last night when i came home i was on 2 percocets and walked around the kitchen a bit (hunched over) and man this morning does it hurt.  i will do some work on the pc (this chair is actually comfortable) and then go back to the couch. no wrapping presents today ( that WAS the plan).

ouch.  gassy and crampy you said it frayda!  and am i supposed to be bleeding a bit (like a light period?!) THAT WASN'T IN THE BROCHURE!  i want to GET RID of the periods!

thanks ladies, i am so thankful to be home....

So glad to hear you are home and moving around, even if slowly. There is no need to overdo, everything will keep. Just take it easy and recover your strength. Hugs and prayers, MK

Welcome home Steph. Be a good girl and don't overdo. Even at the holidays, nothing is as critical as taking care of yourself. You'll heal faster. Sending healing hugs and prayers.

Stef, take it easy, girlfriend. It sounds like you've got a whole lot more stitches than you expected. The only thing that gets rid of the cramps and gas is S-L-O-W walking. Try to move about, but don't overdue as everyone else has said. You're going to feel a whole lot better very soon. In the meantime (((HUGS))) from here. Love, Luci

Hey, Stef, take it easy for a while. No tryouts for Wonder Woman allowed! Just give your body time to adjust and heal. Hugs, Lauri

Sounds good Stef, and the more percocet you are on, the prettier the lights, LOL! Take care sweetie, L&H, Gail

Hi Stef! Hope you are feeling better by now! You should be over the worst part. Has the bleeding subsided? I had a D&C at the same time as my ooph so the bleeding was expected. I've been away visiting family and their cable was not working. Take care! Frayda

hi frayda! bleeding has stopped (hopefully for GOOD!) and yesterday afternoon and today I am definitely feeling stronger... shuffling around a bit more as opposed to being a couch potato... still pain but it's better.... i honestly think they internally stitched something too tight with the hernia repair because it feels that way...like something is pulled taught and can't loosen... oh well as i walk around i suppose it'll loosen up. i dont see the surgeon until tues. after xmas...i wonder if that's too long to have these staples in? i hope not... i asked the nurse and she didn't have a clue...(?)

trying to take it easy but i have SO MUCH WRAPPING TO DO!! ugh i've started but taking lots of breaks... i am sure thats not helping either....oh well! where's the advilll.....heehee ouch . hurts to laugh. ;-)
