Has to do with the Meiosis level of normal cell divisions  that can go arreye and end up with cancer cells ploidity changing to wild and partial DNA strands and wild cells that end up not responding as well to other drugs and methods, same in prostate cancer and explans why it gets crazier to control for many later on. They have identified two areas to fix this and lead to stopping the cancer cells from progression and thus cell death for them and not for your normal I barely understand the whole thing, it is complex. Here are some Journal Articles to look at:
Also another Journal article or two:
New England Journal of Med  361:2  July 9, 2009 (page 189+) "Sythetic Lethality-A NEw Direction in Cancer-Drug Development"-Dr. Iglehart, Dr. Silver
New Eng. Journal Med.  2009: 361:123-34    "Inhibition of Poly(ADP-Ribose) Polymerase in Tumors from BRCA Mutations Carriers" pages 123-134.
I am on the PCa (prostate) forum but wanted to share this info as it seems like one of the bigger break throughs may be coming through just this.
