I went to delete it but so many of you had answered it and if I deleted the post I would delete your posts also.  I have found when I delete offending posts that take the whole thread  some of you feel I am censoring you.  But I can not delete the original post without the whole thread.  I could erase the offending posts but then your posts wouldn't make sense.  These types of posts need to be deleted, not answered.  The person you are answering does not care what you have to say, but they do get a real kick out of being the center of attention.  Perhaps we need a moderator that hangs out at night who can take care of these situations as they arrive and not after they are full blown?  Anyone interested?  I have alerted Peter to the thread and I am sure he will handle it. Ignoring these people is best, even though you have strong feelings.

I just realized this post was not made in the middle of the night, but early enough I could have deleted it if I had known about it.  My husband was off last night so I spent the evening with him rather than on the board. I guess it was my fault I didn't check again before going to bed.

Discouraged, MK

Thank you, MK, I was wishing the whole post would just disappear. We all have so much on our plates already, but there are unscrupulous "snake oil" salesmen everywhere. L&H's, Luci

MK-
Don't be sorry. You're job is not to "protect" us. We are grown women and we can deal with people like him. Sometimes we need to vent and I'd sure rather aim it at someone like him...

It's fine with me that all of it disappears. And, I was one of those who responded. THanks MK and Peter for taking care of this. It was really offensive. Hugs, Lauri

Mk....Although we are moderators, we arent expected to be here 24/7.....I dont think that anyone
should be upset the thread is gone. We dont need that stuff...or that type of person.
Anyone coming to a cancer board trying to sell "snake oil" is a snake and an idiot....

We are grown women and there is no need for round the clock coverage...now if these
insensitive people would just leave us alone. Hope you had a nice evening with Chuck.

I saw that post but it already had several responses so I decided against deleting it too. I did notify Peter. Glad that is gone! Hope everyone is doing well

First, we all know that if we respond to a snake-oil salesman that our posts will eventually be deleted. That's not censorship by a long run. It certainly provides a legitimate place to vent and a place to have a dámn good laugh which this board needs now and then.

Censorship is when I post a legitimate response to someone who has posted a legitimate post and because I disagree, my post is deleted. Very big difference in situations.

We are all big girls, no one expects a moderator to be on line 24/7. Peter was notified of the post and it was taken away. No big deal. All of us who responded have sheathed our claws and are back waiting for the next attack. We do not agree on responding to someone like this but I have the right to post to it and you have the right to think I shouldn't. Neither of our  opinions or posts on this subject will be deleted, so there is no censorship.

But, we Nightwalkers will continue our vigilance, protecting us from shape-shifters, poker gods, and miracle water.

Love, still laughing (sorry MK), Jo-Ann

MK:

You do not have to be here 24/7.  Enjoy your husband, at least, once in awhile.  We have other moderators that work with you here on the board.  I trust all of you to do the best for the morale of this board.

But, as mentioned before me, we are all big girls and we can decide to respond or not.  We have that right.  You, Peter and the other moderators have the right to delete offending threads.  AND we can choose to ignore.

I was going to go ahead and ignore the posts, but my big fat nose hurt me and I wanted to see other's responses.  LOL on this end.

Love and hugs from another Nightwalker.

Candy

The only thing that I am upset with is that he never came back after I posted about his magic sunglasses.  I really was looking for a response from him on that one. In fact it was kinda nice to beat up someone so to speak.  Too funny...  I knew that the post would eventually be deleted, in fact I think my words to Peter were "somebody had better stop this guy before I beat the crap out of him. "

FYI eBay deleted him, too. I went to read his url this afternoon and it was gone. Not sure about the glasses but the holy water sale is gone. Gees you can buy a cheese sandwich with a face on it, why not holy water? LOL Hugs MK

Someone must have complained to eBay. I should have checked it out while I was checking out train sets.

Now MK, if you need some holy water, as I mentioned to the snakeman, I've got some here. Remember when I was in NM and got the healing dirt? Well, I got holy water then. And, mine is free. If I mixed the two together, the holy water and the healing dirt, would I have "holy mud"?

I'm going to look for the cheese sandwich with a happy face on it. Maybe someone else is trying to sell their husband. What category would I find these things under?

You know, someone's looking out for me.

I have, luckily, missed most of the offensive stuff that's happened over the past year or so.  I get the tail end of everyone posting about it.  I am either lucky or just picky.  I protect myself, I think, by not going to posts that could bother me.  I go to the women I know or the women who are new, that I can catch when they post about a suspicion or the women who's names I've seen for a while.  I realize we need a moderator and protection, but I'm glad for my habit, like I said, either that or there's Someone looking out for me.

So, don't tell me, I'll keep my head in the sand on this one.
