Connie passed away a little after one this afternoon.  She will be sorely missed.  She was a wealth of information and a caring and good friend to all of us.  Even though we knew she was very ill last week, she seemed to be getting better or at least out of ICU.  Please say a prayer for her family and for all of our dear friends here. This is so sad. Love, MK

Rest in peace Connie "14 & 6 "

I enjoyed hearing the story of why she signed her posts " # & #".  She said that she wanted to let other survivors know how long she been going since being diagnosed.  One of the last posts from her was in Nov of 04 and she signed it "L&H..Connie..14 & 2", so I added  four months to her name.  I remember when she was just "Connie 9 & 6" when I came on the board.

Dear Sweet Connie, You will be terribly missed dear friend. Give all our other angels a hug from us here and tell them we love them too. Love, Gail

Another angel has arrived in Heaven!  I feel so blessed to have "known" Connie, what a lovely classy lady. What a pleasure it was to be able to meet  her in St. Louis, Mo at our gathering in 2000.

She is going to be so missed.

I remember what a time she always had getting into our weekly chats.

Love to all.

I am so sorry to hear this news. She fought for so long. I met Connie in St. Louis and enjoyed getting to know her even a little bit that weekend. She always had such good advice for people and knew all the latest treatments. She will be missed. Condolences to Bob and other members of her family. Sadly, Lauri

I just got Bob's email and want to come
here and say how sad I am at Connie's
passing.  I know she is at peace and happy
in Heaven, but she will be so missed here
on earth.

Connie was wonderful in answering so
many of the medical questions I had and
she was such an encouragment and hopeful
person.  I loved her fighting, warrior spirit
and calmness.  I know she is enjoying hanging
out with Julie Jar in Heaven, along with so
many others, but she is missed.

Love and tender hugs to her family and to all
of you here ~ Joany

Connie was quite a fighter...I'll miss her too. She is one woman who took control of her disease as much as possible.

Another sister lost....this makes at least 10 just from our SL picture in 2000.
Condolences to her family and hugs to us...

Rest in dear sweet peace Connie,  Thank you for every glimpse of hope, even the tears, and especially for everything you shared while you were here, you will be missed!!  No more pain, no more fear, all sunshine and flowers from now on.. I know your still around and you can hear all of us praying for your family and friends that you left behind when you went home... Know that they are in my heart and prayers...with much love, Connie

Dear sweet Connie...
I so enjoyed meeting her in St. Louis. She brought a little bag of seashells for Hannah. She was so knowledgable and so compassionate. I was so encouraged by her growing survival numbers. When she hit 10 years it was so amazing...
She will be missed. My prayers are with Connie's family.
Hugs,
Julie

I am so sorry to hear of a wonderful member of this group being taken by this horrible disease.  I am less than a week old here and didn't know Connie at all but I am deeply saddened by this.  My heart goes out to Connie's family and all her friends here.  If someone would do me the kindness of letting me know what Connie's member name was on here I would love to read some of her posts.  I would love to have know her and maybe could in a way from her stories on here.

Hugs and prayers to all,

Mia

Mia, Connie posted as Contreasure. But, I don't think she has posted in a long time, but you can look through whatever is available. She has not been feeling very strong of late and was not on the board very often. And, always she was concerned about others. Thanks for your kind comments. Lauri

When I saw the email with Connie as the subject, I just knew it was this.  I know she is in a better place, but I am so sad because I never got to go to Treasure Island to visit like I wanted to do.

I have responded to Bob's email and hoping he will check it.  I see Joyce has a post - am hoping it is about services.

Realizing another angel to heaven is hard on this group, but we know she fought a long hard battle.

Love, Kitty

Mia, a little more about Connie. She was an RN who fought her breast cancer by research and learning all she could about the newest treatments. Recently she was able to talk her doctor into trying a liver seeding which was an innovative treatment. I am sure she knew her time was limited but she never really told any of us how close. She always signed off with the years and months of her life since diagnosis which was near 15 years. When she was well enough she would post suggestions to everyone seeking treatment or having problems. She was truly our treasure. Her name, Contreasure was taken from where she lived, Treasure Island, FL. I called her last summer when the hurricane was bearing down on them and she told me they were trying to decide where to go, which direction, that is. As it turned out the hurricane by-passed their area and they were safe, just without electricity for awhile. Imagine a hurricane coming when you are feeling so ill.................... and she was so calm about it. Hugs MK

Connie, my friend in cancer and in the Lord. I will miss our talks and support that she so generously extended to us.

Hugs,
