Hi Gang,

I wasn't going to tell anyone about this (other than my DH) but I thought I could use your support now that my nerves are starting up.  I'm having a small surgery tomorrow to remove what my surgeon and I think is a blocked sweat gland removed.  It's under my left arm (BC was found in the right breast) and has been there for about 2 years.  When I first found it I thought it was a pimple and pinched it.  But it kept coming back.  Now it creates an odor of sweat all the time.

The only reason I even addressed it now is because of the BC.  I showed my onc. 2 weeks ago, he said to see my surgeon.  He thinks it's nothing to worry about but because of the BC we should remove it and have it checked.  I'm scheduled to be at the hospital at 8 for the 9:10 surgery where they will only be using a local.  I should be out of there and shopping for some new furniture with the DH by noon.

So, I'll be entering the revolving door to surgery again!  Geez, this is 3 in 6 weeks.  Do I get a discount for volume?  Frequent flyer miles?  Maybe a wing dedicated to me?

I could use some good jokes today.  You can see my sense of humor is slipping.

Mia, I had to laugh at the revolving door to surgery. I had one of those years, too. It probably is just what you all think it is, but having it removed is certainly the best idea. Why deal with something that causes you grief when it should be a minor surgery to clean it out? We'll be there in spirit to hold your hand. Just watch for a pink feather floating by as you are lying there. If you think about it and laugh out loud, I would love to hear your explanation to the doctor and the nurses. LOL. Take care, have fun shopping afterwards and let us know. Hugs, MK

Cool, our first opportunity to send the PCE to you! In Ohio, right? We'll be there for you...glad you felt comfortable enough to share with us and we'll be chanting the mantra for "benign".

Mia, I hope the minor surgery went well and everything was all right. Sometimes it is these little things that drive us buggy. I remember the year of my bc surgery, DD had a fatty cyst removed from her tail bone and DH had an appendectomy all in the same year and all by the same surgeon. I told him we were seeing way too much of him. And, no, he did not offer a family discount. Take care and be well, Lauri

Thank you Laurie, Lori and MK!

I'm so happy to have all of you there with me.  Even though it's a minor thing it's upsetting going there again.  Brings back all the memories since they are still so fresh.  Heck, my other underarm isn't even over the numbness from the lymph node surgery yet!  Told DH we have to buy an electric razor right after we leave the hospital.  I've been using my regular razor to shave and I can't feel it.  So it takes me FOREVER!  One little tiny area!  Geez!  Now I'll have to be careful about BOTH of them!  And going "european" isn't an option!

I'll be watching for the pink feathers!  Thanks again ladies, you're the best!!!

Hugs,

Mia

Mia, just letting you know I will be there too! I have never traveled so much in my life since finding this board, LOL! And I love the color pink so the feathers and things are great! Benign chant going on in Washington State. L&H, Gail

Hi Mia,

Sorry to hear about your latest setback. I enjoyed reading about your trials, and I will definitely be there with you when you have your procedure done. This will be my first blocked sweat gland. LOL Wishing you lots of good luck.

Mia,

I know what you mean about the revolving door to surgery, 5 years ago that is how I felt.  I kept telling the Dr I should get a discount for being one of her most frequent patients.  Yeah right!!  She did laugh and give me hug.

Benign mantra is going on here and I am ready to ride the PCE to be with you tomorrow too.  Good luck and God Bless.

Good Morning!

I'm almost ready and will be walking out the door in 15 minutes.  I'll be watching for all my new friends and the PCE!  Drop a feather or two to say hi.  Thanks for all your support.  I will write here again this afternoon.

Love and hugs to all,

Mia

The feathers are dropping from the PCE, I hope you can see them and they are giving you lots of comfort to know we are circling. It is now 8:12 and prayers are going out to you sweetie.

Until later..............^j^ ^j^ ^j^ ^j^ ^j^

I'm home!  But only for a minute, we just stopped by here for some measurements before we head out to shop for a new couch.

Thanks for the PCE, you are all awesome!  And I felt great knowing you were all there with me.  On the way there it was snowing but I imagined the snowflakes as being pink feathers!  That was fun!

I've got a 1" incision that was closed with "glue" so I don't even have a bandage under my arm.  And the local hasn't worn off yet so the right underarm is more painful.  I'm sure it will feel different later.  But in the meantime I'm enjoying that this hurdle is over! The Lord is good to me.

Well the doctor gave my DH orders (from my hinting) that he should take me for retail therapy.  So I'm on my way.  I'll write more later.

Deb, thanks for the card that was beautiful!

Hugs,

LOL I was coming to post and say Mia should be shopping by now and you beat me to it. Loved the snowflake/pink feathers. You really blend into this crazy group nicely. Now we should resurrect the barnyard game and see how you do with that. I can hear the groans and moans.................... Mother Goose reporting. Hugs MK

Retail therapy was fun!  We shopped at a couple of furniture stores and came home with fabric swatches to work with carpet and other furniture pieces.  But we still don't know if we want a sofa, reclining sofa or sectional.  I doubt I'll get the purple couch I've been wanting.  It won't go with the other stuff and I haven't found a way to get around that yet with DH.  Tried telling him the other stuff could go upstairs in the parlor.  He's seeing right through me though.  Oh well, you can't blame a gal for trying when I was in the position for a win.

The pain started on the drive home and I am now on a blend of Vicodin and coffee.  If I don't have the coffee I'll have to go to bed.  Those pain pills make me so groggy.

Ok, now I have to ask, what is the "barnyard game"?  We don't turn into a bunch of animals do we?  this should be fun.

Thanks again for all the support!

Hugs and blessings,

Mia

We were a variation of chickens, turkeys, geese, buzzards. It was fun and we had lots of laughs, but some thought it was a little silly for a breast cancer board. It all started with the YaYa Sisterhood. There was a site to go to get your YaYa name and many of us came out with names of chickens, etc. The ones who didn't we found names for. We have been through all sorts of fun things over the years. I remember way back in the beginning writing poetry, talking about poems, etc. We need laughs here occasionally. Well, maybe we can talk about it all tonight. Hope the coffee keeps you awake so you can try to come to chat. Hugs MK

Glad you are feeling ok.  Retail shopping always helps.  Sorry I missed the PCE.  I am sure it was lots of fun.  Those gals really know how to make music and dance. yeah

Hugs,
