I had what's called a D&E.  It's over.  I bled a lot and needed two units transfused.  My first time and scary.  I stayed overnight, then we drove home in a bad snowstorm, but I had the bed in the van to lay down on. 
I'm not so good.  Didn't get to sleep last night until 5:30 am.  My mind was racing.  I went out this morning and bought some stuff for projects around here that I can have some fun with.  I'm glad I have the rest of the week off, I'm pretty strung out.  I go back to the docs on Monday.  My hemocrit is still low and I need iron, which I'm taking.  I need to know what foods to eat that are high in iron, so if anyone can chime in, that would be good.
I'm going to make a play station for the cockateil with DH in the shop this afternoon.  I bought one and he sent me back with it, saying we could make it in a half hour.  Maybe I'll forgive him for what he's not this century.   Not likely today, though. sad

I'm glad it's over. So sorry that you are feeling so bad. As for the iron, they gave me really strong iron pills during chemo. I don't think they said there was anything in particular that I was to eat. I hated the iron pills though. Really upset my stomach as I remember.
DH sounds like my EXDH. He says that all of the time. He made my last cat tree after he saw how much they cost. My shrink has done a lot for me. Otherwise, I probably would be married now. That would not have worked for either of us. I like her a lot and we have the same birthday.

Ellen, start eating your spinach & liver. I eat beans (black beans have alot of iron). I buy all different colors, white, black, pink , rinse, chop a tomato, scallion if you like, fresh parsley and a tiny bit of garlic. Mix, toss with olive oil and whatever kind of vinegar you like, or lemon juice. It makes a nice bean salad and has a great deal of iron. If I think of more, I will write ya.

LIVER, Dark Green Leafy Vegetables, Beets, Red meats are all high in iron. Iron pills are hard on your stomache and very constipating usually.

Glad you are home and I sure hope you are resting now and not doing too much for awhile. After some good rest then have fun with your projects.

I'm headed to my recliner to knit. I did that yesterday and ended up taking a two hour nap. LOL

Broccoli is so high in iron. Blanch it in a little chicken broth and yum, it is so good. Yes, oh beans, my favorite. Put a little bit of soda in the mix to help with the tootin'.

I am so glad to hear that you are home and it is all behind you now. I think the project idea is great. Rent some videos that are comedies. Laughter is a great healer.

The gals have given you lots of ideas on iron. I saw where MK said the iron sometimes gives constipation, well, I tend to get just the opposite when I take it. Yikes! I don't know which is better. (-:

Loved Deb's idea on renting funny movies. Now........let's see, I am trying to think of one for you to see that ....hmmmmmm. Oh! How about an old one.....Weekend at Bernie's.

Strawberries are high in iron and so are . . .don't gag . . . fried chicken livers. I never thought I could do them but with enough ranch dressing they are tolerable. They really help my energy level. KFC makes some that are pretty good.
