I had an excisional biopsy a month ago with a reduction and it's healing, but I did a light exam on myself and to the left of the incision is a lump that doesn't hurt.  It feels like scar tissue.  The reason I know this is because I had some scar tissue removed (it also was a lump). It feels the same and I'm not due go back to the doc until May 2.  I'm a little nervous but I'm trying not to panic.  They found lobular hyperplasia in the biopsy.  Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi Susan, I have not had what you descibe, but I have lumpiness under my lumpectomy incision that the doctors say is scar tissue. It does not show up as anything suspecious on the mammogram. Hope that gives you a little peace of mind. Hugs, Lauri

Kudos to you Susan for doing your exams!  I still can't bring myself to do a complete self exam almost 3 months post surgery.  I do the un-affected breast but not the one that had the surgery, with the radiation and the scar I don't know where to start and it feels so different.  I keep thinking it will take some getting used to but I don't like to touch it right now.  You are probably right about the scar tissue but why don't you call your doctor to see if they can get you in a little earlier just to ease your mind.  I know I would be the same way if I felt another lump.  Heck, I would be totally freaked out, who am I trying to fool.

Are you guys kidding, I need to be heavily medicated.  Especialy since the onc I went to after the surgery was a quack.  I called the surgeon and I'm still waiting for a call back. I found out that the doc I went to was not the doc he wanted me to go to.  There is another doc in the practice and he wanted me to see her.  Sooooooo, I will make an appt and go back.  I so don't want to do this.  I know there's nothing there but I feel like I have a team of docs for a disease I may never get.  This lump has to be scar tissue, it's right by the incision. As far as the self exams, I have been doing them since I was about 20.  Funny, though, my husband found it this time.
