I wrote recently for help on travel insurance, and found lots of helpful replies. It is important to have it because we are travelling to Florida with the children and if anything at all happened to me (fall and injured leg for example) they would access my medical records and I would be done for fraud if I hadn't disclosed my cancer on the travel insurance forms. I was very lucky with a good company called FREEDOM who are based in cambridge and I got a 'bearable' quote for them for the whole family -incase anything happened to me they would have hotel costs etc paid for them.
i hope this helps any other travellers as there really isn't much else out there!   cool

Thanks for sharing this information. I recently read an article in a magazine about a travel disaster and insurance and thought about you. The recent voyage of the Norwegian ship that ran into the tidal wave off the Carolina's would be a good example of needing insurance, altho they did refund half the fare and offered another cruise for another half fare. If I had been on board, they probably would never get me back on a ship again, tho. LOL. I hope you have a wonderful trip and don't need to cash in on any insurance policy at all. Please come back and let us know. Mary K.

Thanks Mary. I will do!! Trouble is, these sites make me depressed as I put cancer well out of my mind and am very busy with my kids etc and decorating the house and try to never think about it.
That's the best way for me, and I am positive 99% of the time!! Hope you are feeling well.

I know we do have some depressing situations here, but many of us are fairly healthy and living a decent life, too, so don't get the idea that we are all very ill. I am eight years out from diagnosis and doing fine in the bc world, it is the other things that drag me down like weight and age and diabetes now. Yuk. But I feel well enough to do pretty much what I want to. LOL Which isn't much. Just be sure to stay on top of your exams, etc. Hugs MK
