We just received word that the grandson of a friend of mine (he was also a classmate of my granddaughter's) drowned this afternoon. He was 10 yo. He and his 8 yo cousin evidently decided to go wading/swimming in the river w/out adult supervision. We aren't sure what happened but it doesn't really matter. Please remember his family and classmates in your prayers. I am finding that it is very difficult to explain to a 10 yo why her friend died.

Oh dear, why do these things happen? Some boys in our area decided to scale a fence and go swimming and one of them drowned, too. He could possibly have been saved had there not been the fence that had to be scaled when one of the kids went for help, too. Explaining death of a young healthy person to a child has to be difficult. It is an experience you never forget. I still remember deaths from when I was young, many years ago. I hope your grand daughter can understand and she will not be affected by this tragedy. Hugs MK

I have always said that kids will always make mistakes but should never have to pay for them with their lives. It upsets me whenever a child passes regardless of the reason. It's just against the laws of nature for a parent to bury a child.

There are no words of sympathy in a case like this. I will pray that God holds them in his hand and lends his strength to them.

Love, Jo-Ann

How tragic. Sending comforting thoughts and prayers. So sad, just so sad. Hugs, Lauri
