Good morning ladies.  I was supposed to start my weekly taxol today.  But, over the weekend, I developed pain up in the gum.  It seems when I had a tooth pulled years ago, the dentist left a piece of tooth.  Well, I guess it is deciding to give me a problem.  I called the onc. on Tuesday morning and they had me go to the dentist.  Have to take care of the problem before starting chemo.  So this morning its off to the surgeon to have it cut out.  I have to call the onc. office after to let them know if there is infection, stitches, etc.  So, for now, I do not know how soon I can start treatment.  As all of you know, once you know you have cancer in you, you want it taken care of.  Please think of me at 9:00 this morning.
Thanks, I'll let you know when I can start treatment.

Good luck, today, Vicky! I'll definitely be thinking about you at 9:00 and more. I know what you mean, and I hope you do start treatments ASAP. No sense waiting any longer! I hope the tooth doesn't give you any problems! Let us know how it all goes!

Vicky:

I will be thinking of you today.  Hope the tooth piece removal puts everything back on schedule quickly.

Hugs,

You just never know do you? Who would have ever expected a DDS to leave a piece of a tooth? I'm sorry you have this glitch to put off the beginning of treatment and I hope it won't be a long glitch. I'm afraid I would be very upset with the DSS about now. You sound cool and calm. Good for you!! Big hugs MK

Vicky: I'm sorry to hear about the tooth problem but am very glad that you found out now instead of after you started your chemo. God works in mysterious ways. Here's hoping that the surgeon can take care of the problem, you heal quickly and can begin your chemo next week.

Hugs...Deb

Thanks all. Got home early. Tooth was just starting to get infected. The surgeon said I was smart to start the amoxicillin on Sunday or it would have been worse. I didnt even get a stitch. I will be on Amoxicillin for 10 says. Oncologist set me up for Friday treatment and a neupogen (ouch) shot on Saturday.

Ellen, as far as I am concerned, we are still on for Sunday. Between the taxol and neupogen I may be aching but, I will make a wardrobe change and wear comfy shoes instead of the heels. Let me know what you are wearing. Talk to ya soon.

I thought a matching, kinda dressy, shorts set if it's nice out, a silk pants outfit if it's not.  I'm glad it's not too infected.  You're a smart lady to start that amoxicillin.  Glad you didn't get your resistance too compromised with an infection!

OK, we'll give it a whirl.  If you're not up to going, I'll still come visit.  Email me your address and I'll get the directions.

Vicky, sorry you have this latest setback, but it sounds like you are on your way to once again being cancer-free. Hang in there and be sure to rest well....

Hey Vicky,

It's 8:58 a.m. as I write this. I'm sending prayers your way for a speedy recovery and a minimum of fuss so you can concentrate on the real issue. I'm holding your hand, sweetie.

Not fair to have this also. A piece of tooth is just right up there on the list of things you do not need to deal with besides treatment. The good news is at least you got that hurdle out of the way. Sorry I missed your post until now. If you need PCE for your first onc treatment let us know, you know we will come flying. Pink boas are always ready. Hugs, Joyce
