My DD's wedding was just beautiful. We had so much fun and it was so good to be able to see my oldest DS.  My DD managed to get her big brother in tears when she dedicated the song "When I'm Gone" to all military men and women especially her big brother who is leaving for Iraq. It was a very touching moment when just my DD and oldest DS danced together. They were the only ones on the dance floor.  I thank God that  he blessed me with three wonderful children and that they are so close. Youngest DS had his girlfriend there so he was too cool to shed any tears! During the ceremony when the minister asked "Who gives this bride away", my DH said" Her mother, myself, and her brothers". I had to chuckle to myself. I thought the poor groom has a whole family watching over my DD.
Prayers are needed for my oldest DS as he left yesterday for Iraq. I am so proud of him, but like all parents of the men and women in Iraq, I am scared to death. This is the second time he has been there. I just wish they all could come home.
Well I moved back home last week and things are going well. Perhaps the two year separation was what my DH and I needed. So much has happened during that time. In a strange way the wedding, Iraq, and my youngest DS going away to college has put a new look on things. I am optomistic that things will work out. We both have learned to treat each other with respect which is a major improvement. We are redoing the house (paint, carpet, tile, etc.) which is really keeping us busy.
Will post wedding pics when we get them. Peace to all. Hugs, Patty

Hey Patty, it is good to hear all your news. If you would like you could send us your son's address in Iraq and we could send him some cards, letters and perhaps even a package of goodies. Best to send it to email addresses and we can pass it around. We did that for Libby's cousin and he seemed to enjoy getting the mail. I'm glad to hear things seem to be going with with DH. Sometimes fathers are so jealous of their own kids that when the nest is empty things are much easier. And in some ways men mellow with age, too. I'll be looking forward to seeing pictures, too. Hugs MK
